When you want glassy highs you end up getting all sorts of noise amplified along the bass.
I have dirty AC here, and no bass is shielded enough it seems .. adding a cab IR fixes most of it usually though, since the noise (well in my case anyway) is in these frequency ranges.
Or just turning down the highs but that's not always possible, in a busy mix it makes no difference anyway but that didn't seem to be your case from what you posted on last page.

I'm just back from a meet in germany and it was great.
In retrospect the only thing I would have done differently is bring a transparent preamp with a headphones out, and a good pair of headphones.
There were too many basses to try, several of them very interesting, and I just could not try everything I wanted.
But you seem more experienced with these things so I'm sure you have a good solution there already.

The offer is much appreciated but it really only fits that bass. I don't foresee another older AB4 in my future.

Speedo bars (though after seeing @AB Nate 's fretless, maybe fretless)
X-Top (eyeing up that curly cedar)
D @ 12th fret (obviously not if fretless)
P-tone (so it would have FDV+FDV+Ptone)
Glock 3 band
Transparent Orange

Ooo. That should be quite fine as well. Was the advice needed more about the ordering process or tips and tricks from those who have ordered? Can't help you as much there. All of mine I got used.

Best advice I can give at this point is be committed to your selections.
18 months is a long time, and if you start changing details they can easily extend it. My fretless was a slightly special case with a few details we went back and forth on and in the end it took 24 months.
I think you have a few other details to confirm yet.
-pick ups(FD3,FDV,SF2, P pup if not a six string)
-2x or 3x pick ups,
- switches,
-material used in speedo bars,
- if your going natural finish(no paint) then have you considered a contrast layer(most commonly Wenge or flamed maple..... or both
) some other minor details as well:
-Hardware finish
-“D” inlay material(most commonly would match the speedo bar material)
-recessed strap pin location on back of bass( not sure if this is common on ABs)
-strings from factory. Nickel or stainless or special tuning(kallium)
These are just some thoughts that cross my mind when queuing up for a build. I’ve gotten into it a few times and then doubted myself..... even once backed out but I’ve completed 3 new builds and have been extremely happy with the end results. I’ve learned something along the way on everyone

I was not aware that you had a choice in hardware finish, unless you ordered a Super-series bass? Fortunately for me, Black Hardware is my JAM! If I decide to keep this NG-3, I'm gonna put black hardware on it. I emailed Hipshot a while back and they kindly responded with a "Sure, we'll sell ya' some black Dingwall hardware!". Unless those Babicz Solo Rails are direct replacements? If they are, I might go that direction...
Congrats on making that decision. Totally digging that top you picked. I am a sucker for Spalted Maple. Everything @AB Nate said was pretty true(except for the hardware part, and you might be able to get that done, with the right money), The other thing to consider is who you're ordering it through. Dingwall sets prices, so that's not really an issue. If you have a fave dealer who's a Dingwall dealer, you're set. If not, I highly recommend @SLaPiNFuNK ! Jason is righteous dude who's taken very good care of me throughout the entire 19+ months I've been waiting. My next choice would be @bebass ! Michael is also a classy human being and he'll definitely take good care of you! Both of these guys are on here and are willing to get you the answers you seek!
If you haven't ordered something like this before, I'll say this- The wait sucks, but, all things considered, it's pretty tolerable, until the last 4-6 weeks, then it becomes UNBEARABLE! I was actually fine, until the beginning of this month, because I'm partially due this month. To my credit, I've only emailed or PM'd both Jason and Dingwall directly a couple of times, each, this month. LOL!

it may have been the supers I was thinking about. Chrome or black. That and the tuners being the regular ones or the clover leafs.
Ok, I can't let it go on. I was totally messing with dtsamples, but, I guess he doesn't come around much any more 
I'm here, I just don't have much money to complain about not being able to buy it with anymore. Considering letting go of my ABZ5 because I've been playing an ABZ6III but given that every dingwall I've ever sold I've begged the new owner to sell it back to me ya'll should probably talk me out of it.
