Dingwall Owners Club

What a weird day.

when it started out I never saw me bringing home a V1 combustion.....

A few little dings here and there but the neck is like new and this old dog plays and sounds like a champ.

Thanks Jason! It’s been about 10 yrs since seeing one in person. I guess it sat around as a back up bass most it’s life and then the last fellow who owned it wasn’t a bass player but had intent.... it mostly sat there too.
Congrats! Nice rig, too! :D

Its Whalepool Burst time "again"

After getting one of these basses many weeks ago and putting up pictures etc, I noticed some damage to the neck. My dealer liased with Canada and another bass was sent over and it has now turned up.

It's quite a bit heavier but it has a better balance on me so it's a bonus. The quilt is nice too and as I have a "thing" for a black-pearl pickguard I have put one on, it's a proper Dingwall one if anyone is interested.

Because "Jeff the tech" had sent me the pickup wiring diagrams I tried the Parallel option out, "it came wired in Series" and I have to say I'm sticking with Parallel. OK it sounds a bit tamer but the note clarity and definition are improved, to my ears at least.
All 4 (2X) switch positions are usable now and the Eq. seems to work better too, that's if I decide to use as I seem to be liking passive most of the time.

I am so happy now, its been a sort of Up-Down-Up exerience but I got there in the end and I simply cannot put this thing down.

So here's a couple of photos of my "keeper" dream bass
