That middle pickup solo.....

That's the whole reason that I'll never have a 3x. For me, the neck & bridge pickups would be superfluous. It would be cool if there was an option for a single middle pickup on the D-Roc or Combustion/NG. Limited runs? Just food for thought (or to fuel DAS )...

I think it’s well worth the money. It’s a very useful diverse pedal and I’ve never bonded with anything line 6 before.
The effects are quite solid but my strymons beat them heads up. Aside from that fact it’s a very versatile tool and in 99% of situations the quality won’t be discernible as it’s still really great. To be clear, I think they are better then many many stand alone effects just that some shine above for obvious reasons.
The amp and cab sims are solid and there is sooo much more that I haven’t the skill to dig into. For the price.... it’s an absolute affirmative IMO.

oh... and the signal is super clean.

I like my HX Effects, but still haven't gotten a chorus to sound like my Markbass chorus. I also haven't tried terribly hard yet...

Well, I posted on facebook about going to The Bass Shop tomorrow to check out the D-Roc, and I had a small contingent of folks message me asking me to meet them there, to bring my ABs, my Prima, my Z, and my NG. So, it's turning into a production, but, it'll be fun to have a lot of the Dingwall models showing up there for people to have fun with. I wont have a ton of time to hang around, but, maybe a couple hours to talk to folks and let them play -- Chad can easily help them if they want to talk details and specifics.

Ever since I sold my D Bird I’ve regretted it a tad. The excuse I used to justify was “upper fret access”. Well, that been rectified so I’ve been waiting for one of these to pop up so I snagged it.

Nice Lee. That's my favorite color too, and yeah, middle pickup soloed is my "go to" setting on my D-Bird. Maybe a D-Roc one day, but I'm not in the buying/selling position I used to be.

Ahh thank you! I love my pedalboards but sometimes I'd love to have something light to take with my for travel gigs!

A Combustion/D-Roc with a single P pickup (p-tone or whatever) would be a winner for me too. I moved my P-tone to the middle and ditched the 3x layout, just stays on the P-tone all the time now so I could happily lose the bridge pickup.

I have been wondering about bunging one in the neck position of my Combustion but I'm concerned its a lot of money to fork out for what may end up a very minimal difference.

I personally prefer the P-Tone. No it's not a huge difference and nobody but me will probably notice, but I like it.

Has anyone dared to peel their vinyl pickguard off their import D Bird or D-Roc? If so, how’d that go?

Thanks for this link I will have a proper listen Tmrw, but on my PC they do seem a bit less harsh and that is what I'm looking for.

The PU's in my Combustion are the FD3N ones and I have them wired in parallel as I feel the note definition is clearer/cleaner like this.

Do the P-Tones have the ability to be wired for either series or parallel, I "guess" they would not?

You can do it but it sounds awful in parallel IMO, I speak from experience as I wired mine wrong the first time

The two D-Roc's locally at the store had some wizzbang starting to peel the corners off...being in the graphics biz, to ensure a safer removal, I'd use a hairdryer and warm the vinyl up a bit then peel off keeping it close to the body and not perpendicular. Just extra safety for the wood finish. I assume the finish is of high quality so you should be totally fine. (I would also do the smaller one first to give you the confidence in ease of peeling) ....Also you may want to save them - incase you want a sign shop to remake them. Easy to do assuming you keep the original as a template... Cheers
