Dingwall Owners Club

Last show, I used my Super P and my D-Roc Standard. This is my bass rig. The HX is usually modeling an SVT4. The pedals are a recent change; with multiple basses and different rooms, having knobs is handy.

I also have a wireless rack. The Shure is my instrument system, and the G4 is for my ears.

I think a flurry of basses (with gear) pix should happen here soon. Been interesting to see what everyone uses and maybe pedal pix too. I have two Dingwalls...Super PJ and a custom AB ...running thru a Genzler Magellan 800 and an Audiokenesis Hathor 1505....also a Mesa 410 that I rarely use unfortunately. Pix will follow if anyone interested. Please share your gear and details...if you're bored. :)

Definitely, my man!

These are behind the couch.... until I get my pedal game in check.

Dude! Your "Behind the couch" pedals are nicer than some pro boards!

View attachment 3652728 My setup, minus the cab I will use if required. I run a Kemper with a nice Darkglass microtubes amp profile. It's set to a clean, big sounding setting. Pedal wise, I rotate things in and out, but the constants are the MXR compressor for very light compression, the ring thing for octave up or down. For gainy tones, I run a loop with the ls2 to blend clean tones with a zvex wooly mammoth and the now out of production musicelectronix Gemini overdrive.

Like the setup, sir! I just sold my Kemper, but it still gets an A+ from me. I may partake in a Kemper Stage way down the road...

Wife-She'd be pretty mad if she knew I posted this pic. She had surgery a couple of weeks ago. She's a trooper.
Cat-cat doesn't care what pics I post, or if any of us are here...

Thank you! I double on guitar, and gig equally on both. The Kemper kicks butt as a bass amp! It genuinely surprised me with how good it is all around. I've surprised several bassists using my rig with it. I still have a Mesa M6 which is awesome, but with the kemper, cab, backpack, and bass I can't believe how much easier gigging has become for me. I'll profile the M6 and then probably sell it.

The HX has intrigued me, how do you like it? Also, I hope your wife has a good recovery from surgery!

I didn't realize I had a GAS 'problem'.....until I took this pic.
I'm thinking I need to do a bit of a sell off at some point. Oops.
I will send some pedal board and cab pics tomorrow.
(I would name makes and models but ya'll probably already know)
Have a great night my buds!! :)View attachment 3652940

I was actually surprised at how killa' the HX Stomp actually was! It's not as flexible as the Helix Floor and definitely not the Kemper, but, honestly, I was able to dial in a live tone I really loved with the HXS easier and faster than I did with the Kemper. Having said that, if I were in your position and gigging on guitar and bass, there's no doubt the Kemper would rule! I barely play guitar in my studio, and the HXS handles that easily. The Kemper is just a brilliant piece of engineering! I really dig the Stomp, and I love HX Edit! It's really the UI that every modeler should strive for. The only reason I took the Stomp off the main board, was because Operation:Get My Band To Go Ampless was a complete failure, lol! Our guitar player just keeps buying new amps, so I threw in the towel and decided to put together another stage rig. Since I'd left myself ampless, I thought I'd try some of the new GK offerings. I was gonna run the Stomp thru the effects return, but the GK Legacy 800 sounded great, so I ditched that idea.

Thanks for the good vibes! The wife is rockin'! She went back to work today!

O! M! G! That pic is just full of WIN! You could've just posted a pic of the Dingwalls, the FBass, The US MTD, and that Skjold, and been a winner, but you had to throw down with that Wal Mk. II! That Streamer Stage II is pretty sweet, too!:drool::bassist:

I’m enjoying everyone’s gear pics, keep them coming!

Here’s my schtuff.

This post is the exact reason we need a LOVE button! The basses are gorgeous!, the gear is fantastic, the rooms are just so well laid out and beautiful! I really wanna be you...:drool::drool::drool::thumbsup::D

I’m already excited to see TalkBass posts and YouTube videos from the January 2020 NAMM show. Looking through the list of attendees and booths, I noticed that Dingwall and Darkglass will share the same booth this year. That’s pretty cool!

I know, right! I was thinking about that earlier. I'm not really GASsing for basses(other than the one's I'm waiting on), there's one amp I'm going to head towards, and my effects needs are starting to dwindle, but I'm really looking forward to everything NAMM in a couple of weeks! I'm gonna try to get there next year...:bassist::hyper::bassist::hyper:

Lol. I hope your wife a quick recovery. I hate my picture taken, especially when under the weather.

that’s a pile of sic stuff!
What do you think of the WJA stuff?

also, if the GB 410 is so destroyed that it needs to hop a truck to the recycle bin I’ll send you my address and they can drop it off here. I won’t even charge a disposal fee. ;)

that’s some killer schtuff!
Like them sixers. The bubinga on the end had the aftermarket DGTC installed right?? If so, what’s its status these days?

Cheers!

It did have the TC but there must have been something wrong with it; it was lower output than passive mode and didn’t ever sound right. Other people’s descriptions didn’t match. I had a Glockenklang pre installed and there was a big improvement immediately.

It’d be nice to get the DGTC checked but whether it’s worth the effort I don’t know.

Thanks! She's doing great, especially considering she had her throat sliced open a couple of weeks ago. She went back to work today. She's a school administrator, so it's not physically demanding, but it's a stressful job. She went back early, before the kids are back in school, to start catching up. She's a trooper!

If the WJA Powered 2x10 wasn't so heavy and ergonomically terrible, I'd still be using it.
Pros-
-They sound AMAZING
-They look cool
-Two of them would be a$$ kicking
-Wayne Jones is a neat guy

Cons-
-They're, like, 77 Lbs!
-There's only ONE top handle
-The wheels are nice, but the pull out handle is too short
-Because the vent for the amps is in there back, there are limitations to where it can be on a stage
-The only input is an XLR
-Did I mention it weighs 77lbs and only has ONE top handle...

The thing is impossible to lift into a vehicle, unless you either A) bend down, grab the top handle, and somewhere on the bottom(super awkward). B) Lay it on it's side, and lift it(if you do it that way, you have two handles, but it's harder to lift). Or, C) Get the singer, who's not doing anything, to help you lift it.

But, they sound AMAZING!;)

I think it’s well worth the money. It’s a very useful diverse pedal and I’ve never bonded with anything line 6 before.
The effects are quite solid but my strymons beat them heads up. Aside from that fact it’s a very versatile tool and in 99% of situations the quality won’t be discernible as it’s still really great. To be clear, I think they are better then many many stand alone effects just that some shine above for obvious reasons.
The amp and cab sims are solid and there is sooo much more that I haven’t the skill to dig into. For the price.... it’s an absolute affirmative IMO.

oh... and the signal is super clean.
