Dingwall Owners Club

I placed an order in January for a 10th anniversary C3, had been delayed from May to June, with recent finishing issues pushing it back to July. I'm happy QC in Canada is so high at the end of the day.

In the grand scheme that's not that long at all, especially compared to custom shop orders. What I will say is that the closer it gets, the longer away it feels!!

Did anyone here get that natural 4 string Afterburner on Reverb? Looked like a good deal!
I used to have one just like it! It was a great bass, but I wasn't a fan of how the bass hung on a strap compared to my D-Bird. It hung very flat, where the D-Bird hangs much more upright. The D-Bird ergonomics and sound are simply perfect for my playstyle in my death metal band, so I let the AB1 go and got a 2nd Bird :)

I had my first band practice since March this week, and returning to my rig with the birds was incredible! I don't think I'll ever stop raving about how much I adore the D-Bird.

Since we’re in the same build queue I suspect I’m also about 12 months out. My build will be simpler than yours, so MAYBE it goes through a little faster, but somehow I doubt it.
I'm honestly not sure on how that goes. If it's first in, first out, we should be picking ours up like the same day. If they build in batches or anything like that, I could easily see yours getting done before mine. Can't wait to see yours, as well though!

I have to imagine they batch process things. Cutting bodies and necks are surely done by different staff than paint or electronics installation. I could be wrong though. Regardless I suspect we’ll both be waiting a while, which is fine since it’s not like anyone here in Seattle is gigging anyway.

I would say that the basses are done in batches. I ordered all three of my ABZ's at the same time. The 5/3 was 19 months, the 6/3 was 22 months, and the 4/3 was just at 24 months. It's definitely not F.I.F.O. Makes sense, since they sell more 5's, slightly less 6's, and way less 4's...

Undeservedly, the 6s are fantastic.
I just didn't know I needed one until I got one :) Now I even enjoy it more than 5ers, and I don't even use the 6th string that much (hmm although ..).
Originally I bought it to have a F# bass but it's just so good I never got to convert it.
Now I'm pondering getting a second 6 for that ..

A few weeks ago there were at least 5-6 D-Roc’s available either here or on Reverb. Of course I waited too long and now there’s a drought unless I want a D Bird ($$$$) or to order from Brussels or Germany. Nothing against our European brothers but I’d rather buy in country. Is this ebb and flow of stock common for Dingwall?

You got that purple AB right?

what I’ve found to love is the feel of the neck. The width. It seems to make sense and feel natural For me. Usage of the C aside it seems to work for the rest of the strings and you get a bonus string. Lol.
