I think older combustion’s and ABZ s would retrofit EMGs but you’d have to be sure they work with the string spacing Vs the angled pup position

Don't the EMG soap bar pickups use bar magnets? Not individual string magnets. Shouldn't that work with a Dingo?
I don’t actually know. I do believe they fit the body routing but that’s as far as my understanding goes on that.
Some early Combustions had EMG's, or maybe it was just EMG preamps?
Regardless, Sheldon has talked about his relationship with the luthier at Fury Guitars and how Dingwall's pickups were a collaboration with Fury (the F in FD3). Sheldon had specific tonal goals in mind when developing the pickups.
Personally, I think EMG soapbars sound awful.

I don't like Barts either. He started with Barts, then made his own pickup.
Now that you mention it, I see it. Ovals would be a better choice, but it's a pretty small issue.

Some really cool stuff there I'd like to try...I love Ziricote and that Ash/Alder body would be very cool to check out. I'll say it quietly though...Buckeye burl just isn't the wood aesthetic for me.
I have never been a fan of blotchy wood tops. Some are okay, but they're generally not my thing. I like a more uniform wood colour or a painted finish.
That would be one of the exceptions for me. It looks like a fiery sun!
Guilty... I was very nervous about getting colored buckeye burl tops for that project because I didn't want lose any of the grain details. I almost didn't think they would do it but when Sheldon sent the preview pictures my head exploded. To quote him from another thread: "Paul is the sh*t!"
That was exactly what I was going for. The finish is called Bloodmoon and along with its sinister twin Nebula they represent everything in the cosmos from nihilistic emptiness filled with quantum fuzz to exploding gas giants that eventually lead to everything we know and see including life itself.

indeed. Zirocote is very cool. My experience with it is limited to my old SJ and would be curious to try it in different configurations to perhaps understand it more.
The body wood combo is one I’m greatly satisfied with. Very even substance accross the strings
it’s close enough to an N that when @pravus sells it to me I can say it’s my initial. .....

Thank-you! It is the Hebrew Aleph which is the first letter in that alphabet and is a mathematical symbol representing different categories of infinity. The smallest of these and the one which we use on a day-to-day basis is called Aleph Null. I am definitely glad I got that order in before they got too busy to do inlays.
