So, umm, when did this happen? My HERO with a Dingwall. I wonder if he got a divorce from Peavey.

Here you go .. I just now realized it looks like they did a satin finish on the back of the neck witch is nice because it will save me the trouble of de- glossing it . Can’t wait to get my hands on this oneTo paraphrase The Tubes, "She's a beauty, a one in a million".The matching position markers take it over the top. I bet it sounds good too.

I wouldn't mind seeing a shot of the back when you get a chance...
I'm gonna try out the Payson nickel strings on my Sklar once it arrives. It's coming with Dingwall's old Voodoo label steels, and I hate the feel of steel strings.
I ordered two sets, the newer version with the red label that are 130-105-85-65-45 and the older version with the clipart Dingwall label that are 130-100-80-60-45. It'll be interesting to compare them. I only ever ran Dingwall's nickel sets on the ABZs and Combustion I owned before.
I see Fretnation carries (but is currently out of stock) Dunlop Super Bright nickels in tapered super long, which I've enjoyed on my Super P5 in the past. I'll probably try those on the Sklar once they're in stock, too.
Gonna be my first bass with a 3-band preamp (the Glockenlang) since I played Ibanez basses. I tend to prefer passive basses, but the flexibility will be nice. Also, having a D-tuner is going to be a first. Anyway, lots to be excited for!

Fretnation has the knobs for $12 eachThat is a beautiful instrument. Bonita! Why is it we want what someone else has? Not the bass, I want the knobs! I'll trade ya, metal Combustion ones for those.lol.. What really makes that bass nice(r) than mine, and I cherish mine, is no pick-guard. Great design of how the dark wood at the end of the neck is sloped down to meet the 1st pickup. The red inlays are an excellent touch.

Haha.. I did almost the same thing , first I bought a combustion 5 string and a few months later I bought this ....Well almost a month after posting that I bought my first Dingwall I am back to post the picture. Must admit I was not sure I made the right choice and did not really like the bass at first so I didn’t post any pictures or even acknowledge the bass. I picked it up each day and just couldn’t get on with it. Last night we had a breakthrough. Practicing some arpeggios both major and minor put my hand in some positions that made my thumb and/or wrist a little uncomfortable. I grabbed the Dingwall and saw the light. No more pain and easier all around to play. This is now my favorite bass and became what I thought would be my one forever bass, until today when I received an email showing some basses including the D-Roc Standard in Blue/Purple Color Shift. I feel like this is the wrong place to look for people to talk me out of buying another Dingwall or remind me that a beginner, playing less than a year does not need 2 Dingwalls. Thanks to all for the advice on the first purchase. This is an amazing bass and a terrific community that happily answered all my questions. Oh, and happy holidays to all.

.. just bought my third dingwall as a Christmas present to myself last week
Any Dingwall users notice pretty prominent low middle boost when using the bridge and middle pickups on parallel? Its especially noticeable on lower tunings and seems to be around 300-400hz area. While it doesnt really bother me on its own, I noticed I had to do a big cut on that area to make the bass fit better to the mix.
I like those matching bar outline inlays.Haha.. I did almost the same thing , first I bought a combustion 5 string and a few months later I bought this ....
