My last 'project' Dingwall ended up with 2 preamps that can be used together or separate, several volume controls two push/pulls and a couple switches (2-way and 3-way)..
..then I had my Super P built. I wanted to keep all of that to the simplest barest minimum. Passive, three knobs, no visible switches. They were kind enough to put a push/pull on the volume which takes the bridge pickup coils parallel/series so as to hide it. In all honesty, so far I've been using the split coil pickup maybe 95 percent of the time.

Similarly, no flashy woods or complex finishes.
I don't know if anyone pays attention to the culinary world...ever notice when famous chefs are asked what they eat at home or what their ideal meals are? They're usually the most simple easy home cooking, not lots of fancy ingredients or flash. This bass is sort of like 'coming home' for some good ol' soul food.
