That is a SAWEET piece of bass weaponry there! Congrats, bro! Stoked for you! Enjoying the genuine happiness you're showing...:hyper::hyper:
Thanks!! Managed to record a quick cover. I'll upload the clip soon. It fits sooo good in the mix

The bad thing about Haz and the few Haz clones out there is they are all PCB, so you're stuck with that Spector knob layout. It'd take a bit of work to shoehorn one into a Dingwall. But, damn, I bet that would sound awesome.
I believe the old style “classic “ Haz is being replaced by a new modular style version soon partially for this reason,.. when I ordered my last Spector build I was told this might be my last chance to get one because the parts for the old style are running out

I’m afraid of that too. Might lead to a custom plate? Fricken with it was a sixer
I’d de-solder the pots from the board and wire in some jumpers so I could use the existing holes on the bass. You could even combine pots into stacked controls if needed. It would definitely qualify as shoehorning but it would be better than making an irreversible mod to a Dingwall IMHO, assuming a “custom plate” would be mounted to the front of the instrument. The alleged modular version would be even better, obviously.

i agree mostly. If I had an other one with a bit of wear and tear on it I wouldn’t be opposed to adding a nice wenge control plate to it. Ultimate using the same holes would be a win of course

there’s actually a really nice AB2 6 here in town much like this one but with mohagaby body I’ve tried to get my hands on a couple times over the years but with no success so far

The Haz PCB won't fit in thee Dingwall cavity. I just look at my HAZ clone and an AB1 and NG3, and there's no way to get it in there as-is. So even if you jumper the pots, you still need to modify the PCB to make it fit. I didn't look closely at where the traces go, so it may be possible without hurting anything.

The input jack on my Combustion is a little “wiggly”. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get it out to tighten it up. Any help please.

One thing I have to be careful about is grabbing a guitar or bass neck with excessive force. A slightly meatier profile seems to discourage me from doing that, so I can focus more of my attention elsewhere. That doesn't mean I wouldn't have liked a Z
I'd have to agree with this assessment. I have a Sklar and an AB2 and I actually prefer the AB2 neck for that reason.

So, just so that I'm understanding this distinction correctly ...an AB has a thicker (front-to-back) neck profile than a Z?
Thanks.

It looks like the plate is missing two wood screws and the jack sleeve needs a washer and nut. No wonder it wiggles.

If the wood screw holes are stripped out, I’d glue a couple pieces of toothpick in to get a good bite with your new screws. The washer and nut should be easy to find at radio shack or Napa. You might need a deep socket to get in there.

The current versions of the AB line run 21mm to 24mm in thickness from 1st to 12th frets. The Z runs 19mm to 22mm. You can compare all the stats on one page at Bass Specs | Dingwall Guitars.

It looks slightly yellow. I have one.

I asked the dingwall folks this a year or so back.

“We have 2 "standard" options for white. The first is our vintage white, which is a solid white with a little tint of yellow, which makes it look a little more cream coloured.

The other is our Ducati Pearl White, which is a more true white with a pearl in the paint which gives it a metallic type of look. “

Who has a vintage white dingwall?
I’m trying to figure which one of these pics is the actual color of the bass View attachment 4194103View attachment 4194104

Sorry for the late reply, but I currently have two Dingwalls, and I think I just happen to have both of those colours. I’m still 55 messages from being caught up on the thread, so I’m sorry if this has been answered. Usually providing a bass pic overcomes any need to apologize though. ;)

It’s hard to tell from the pic, but the Super is mildly transparent. The NG is not. The matte NG particularly appears very different in different light, to the point that it can appear to have a slight cream/yellow hue, as well, so no one picture adequately captures the colour (if you want more pictures, please let me know). Both are great finishes.

Btw, I didn’t really seek out these colours, these are just the basses that found me. It is my favourite colour for an NG, though.

Yeah. The Z's are like a thin C, where as the ABs are closer to a medium C. I prefer the Z neck profile by a good margin.

Edit:
Maybe instead of "thin" I'd say flat? And instead of "medium" I'd say more round (but not chunky, per se)? I don't know... it's so hard to describe neck profiles for me. I get along with many, just have some preferences.
