I was debating that one but had pulled the trigger on an NG-2 before it was listed so wanted to at least get it in hand before thinking about another. When I saw it had sold I was sure it would pop up in here, haha!

So is the current wait for custom still about 18 months?

If you don't get a dealer with a slot, it seems like at least 18, but some builds I know are in the 20 month range now and still a couple months out. So it probably depends. Asking a dealer will get you the most accurate answer.

YouTube would be a good place to start looking for Dingwall artists.

There are quite a few guys on this thread with recordings.

The Dingwall YouTube channel also has tons of demos and an excellent video series on setting up your Dingwall.

Lots of great content in there.

Being new to Dingwall, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some studio recordings where I can hear the instrument in action. I'm up for checking out well known artists and not so well known.

A lot of what you'll find is heavy metal and things to the right of that.
A good source to find far more melodic things is Lee Sklar's YouTube channel. While he does post a lot of videos playing Frankenstein, especially all of his Phil Collins videos show him playing one of his many Dingwalls. You can usually tell by looking at the preview picture, but his birthday video for Phil is a recent example.

I assume your Newtone order shipped out yesterday or today because you ordered just before me and I was notified this morning.

Excited to try them out and just glad to have the options available incase I want to do some weird tunings. The sound clips of all the options sounded pretty nice as well.

Yep. I got notified this morning that they were making them and that they were shipping. Interested to see how they come out. I'm also looking at possibly getting a set made for that fretless BTB 6 string I just picked up.

Sort of designed to be close to even tension across the neck, one round core, one hex. Both with the smaller gauge nickel wrapping.

Anyone “in the know” know if the Black Forest Green NG3’s will be as widely available as some of the other recent finishes. The day I was ready to buy the 2 I was watching on Reverb of course sold.

You think that is a bubinga top? Just comparing the color between the neck and top I don't think so.

You're probably right. I am not sure what it is. It would be weird to put a walnut top on a walnut body, but I guess it could be.
