Same here. That I bet is a recording playthrough and not the actual recording, and he played it that lightly. Who knows though, maybe he does has his bass set up crazy easy to play though.

Most likely pre-recorded and there’s definitely compression involved in there

I'm booked till Febuary so I won't be making any changes right away, so I have time to ask, anyone replace the jack or frets? Im sure I'll get used to it shortly but those are the things that came to mind right away.

I don't know why either would need or want changed. I haven't heard of anything changing those on an NG, especially frets... that'd be an expensive change, and only possible paths would be downgrades IMO. Only thing I'd personally change on the NGs/Combustions would be the bridge if I owned another one... more out of aesthetic than function.

Interesting. Don't think I've ever heard anyone complain about the frets on a Dingwall. Part of the reason we all love Dingwalls is the smaller frets. I rotate between Dingwalls and Spectors, and while I am a total Spector Fanboi, part of the reason I'll not give up my Dingwalls is the feel of the banjo frets. In fact, my next Dingwall could potentially be a Sklar with the Mando frets! I really wanna give Mando frets a go...

The output jack? Ok, I'll concede that the Neutrik is an acquired taste, but knowing that it's actually a higher quality jack makes the times I try to pull out my wireless only to remember that it's locked in a small price to pay for that quality. I'll take a higher quality jack that's, sometimes, annoying, over a lesser quality output jack any day.

edit: I realized that you are talking about an NG, and I'm babbling about my ABZ's. Totally different output jack. So, forget what I said about that. Having said that, I'm not sure what output jack you'd replace it with that would be any better? The jack on the NG/Combustion does kinda suck, I just don't see a fix for that...

Dude is a killer player! His technique reminds me of Alain Caron a little bit. Serious economy of motion and a huge sound! I'd really like to refine and evolve my slap technique into something more like this! My slap technique isn't Louis Johnson extreme, but it could use a bit of refinement...
