The supers are a different more traditional vibe. They are super bad ass but they don’t replicate a long scale, they just be awesome in a different way.
I have a major long scale preference… but I also have 2 supers.

if your inclined to share the photo via PM I could help you ball park the cost. I’ve bought and sold a few dingwalls. :thumbsup:
I also have no intent of acquiring another one at this time.

That’s alright, I’m contemplating a 4 string NG2 right now, that I can refit with a Hipshot Xtender (and matching black tuners) Babicz bridges, etc…and I have no real pressing need. Stop me before I Dingwall again!

Then make sure you don’t stop me when I am ready to pay for my F#0 NG3 and (probably) Z3.

Well, my main bass that I would say gets 85% of my playing time these days and pretty much all my gigs is a Super J5 (P/J) and I do have a Combusion, Afterburner I and II. Even though it is 9.2 lbs, it balances extremely well and I have yet to have a sore shoulder after a gig, which many run over 3 hours playing time.

I have often pondered (out loud) of what a "split the difference" Dingwall model might be like (36" - 33" 5-string).

I'd like another 5 string and while an NG or Combustion would be great, I'd like something different. The biggest unknown me is if I'd like the FDV's. The FD3N's in the NG and DBird are great but I tend to favor my older Combustion with the square end pickups. I'm thinking the FDV's would be closer to that, but I'm not sure.

FD3's would be closer to the square end Combustion pickups (except for the first 300 or so)

I'm running mine through a Genz Benz Streamliner head & Genz Benz cab. The only amp I've ever really fell in love with.
I do use Darkglass pedals too.

My Super J is running through a Trickfish Bullhead 1K into a Trickfish TF212V on gigs where I bring an amp which are fewer and fewer these days. Last night I played a gig with a provided backline and I was given one of those Markbass tilt back 210 combos. I liked it well enough but it wasn’t even close to the same league as my Trickfish rig.

I'm new to the Dingwall world, but mine sound just awesome through the Mesa D800+ and WD800.

I'm about to put another "there's no way I'm selling this" bass up for grabs very shortly. I really don't see myself playing anything but Dingwall now. Crazy times, lol.

I stopped amp flipping when I got a GK 700RB-II eight years ago.

This summer, I got a wild hair to pick up a second amp with a different voice and ended up with a Mesa M-Pulse 600 - I like that they represent different ends of the tonal spectrum, and both complement the Dingwall.

The GK RB's sure have a lot of devotees. It would be fun to plug into one to hear and feel what they're all about. I've read that they are one of the few solid state amps that distort tastefully.
