So, I added in the 6 way switch on my DRoc 5, which gave me the following.

Position 1: Bridge Solo
Position 2: Bridge/Middle Parallel
Position 3: Middle
Position 4: Middle/Neck parallel
Position 5: Neck/Bridge parallel

I'm really liking it so far. The neck solo sound great. Basically like the middle but less edgy. Position 4 sounds very similar to the stock all 3, which I didn't care for so I doubt that setting will get much use, but I need to see in a band setting.

One thing to note for anyone considering this, is that the switch is tall, and the DRoc body is narrow... I had to bend the top tab flat (by the dial/threads) and bend all the connections as flat as possible on the bottom switch and it still grounded out on my control cover if i pressed on it. i added some thick black tape to the back of the control panel where the switch was making contact.

Overall, I'm happy with the change and eager to test it out at rehearsal this week.

Bending the top tab flat seems to be a standard practice, my NG3 also needed that. Given the rest of what you had to say, about the height of the switch, combined with how much I do like the available pickup selections on the D-Roc, I guess I’ll leave mine alone.

Okay, maybe some series/parallel switches, if I can figure out installing them.

So I just spent 4 hours redoing all the electronics in Moby. Whoever had the bass before me (not who I bought it from) really did a number on the wiring when they added the DGTC. For one, the only thing connected to the rotary were the +'s from the series/parallel switch circuit board, the -'s were bundled together with the bridge ground. The +'s were also replaced with silly cloth wire for some reason, I switched them back to standard red wire to match Dingwall wiring. None of the proper grounds were connected to the rotary and I replaced the vol pot as the old one had a really loose shaft. So now all the pickups are attached to the rotary and the switches work as they should.

That said- if I decide to sell, the bass now has PROPER 3X wiring. The ad descriptions prior to my purchase were very wrong as far as the wiring being "correct". Whew... lol

I love those basses! If I could have any super long scale trio, those would be it. I think that is my favourite Prima Artist of all time, love cocobolo as a top wood and have a soft spot for white basses. It doesn't get much better than that!

Moby slayed the first gig tonight. N+B in series just did it. Thick, meaty and I don't know if it's the wenge neck/body construction, but there was some real attitude as well. More "grunt" than the NG.

I definitely like how the AB2 hangs compared to the NG. No shoulder stress at all after 3+ hours. The neck shape is wonderful, but the flatness up high is gonna take a little getting used to. Down low is so so nice!

So glad I got the electronics dialed. It's almost like a new bass compared to what it was.

Thanks to you both. My NG3 had TI flats for a while, since Payson wasn't stocking/shipping their flats and I liked it, but it wasn't quite thumpy enough. I was hoping that the combination of La Bellas and FDV pickups instead of the neodymium pickups may get me closer. I'd love to try the Paysons, and if anyone happened to have a used set lying around that they don't anticipate using I'd gladly take them.

Glad to hear everything worked! Regarding the bass position, was there a significant difference outside of the weight? Also, were you using the inset strap lock as opposed to the standard positioned ones?

No. If it moves easily and freely your good to go. If it’s under strain I’d loosen the strings somewhat and see if that eliminates any of the strain. If it’s still under significant strain and tough to turn you may want to get a tech to check it.
I don’t believe that to be an issue as you have a New NG6 and it should move easily through most of its mid range. Just be cautious at the extreme ends of tension.

Most times I’ll loosen the A and D anyways just to gain some flexibility for the Allen wrench between the strings. That alone should be enough tension removal for adjustments.

My NG and Moby are very similar in weight. Maybe 9.3lbs (NG) and 9-ish for Moby. Most of the weight on Moby is in the neck but it balances perfectly on the normal strap pins. I really don't know how to describe the "hang" difference.. it's definitely there and more comfy with the AB2. Others with more time spent on both AB/NG may be able to express it better.

Oh yeah, we played some of the best versions of a couple of our tunes last night. By far. I know the other guys were feeling it! I was already using B+N on the NG, but in series that setting is a whole other animal.

I'm thinking next step is new eq pots and ditching the quick connect pots..That will open up a hair more space for another battery hopefully, and best part is I don't have to redo any of the other wiring I've already done. Swapping pots will be cake compared to yesterday, lol.

It's odd that they replaced just the 3 keys on the treble side - I wonder if the originals got damaged?

But I've always liked the key shape of the Gotoh GB707s - they just look more "upscale" to me than the GB7.

In fact, I've been putting HipShot UltraLites on all my basses, but they just didn't suit my Z3 as well as the GB707s, so I had to find a set of Gotoh Res-O-Lites instead, to keep that look.
