My D-Bird Standard will be a forever bass, but I'm diversifying. I picked up a Strandberg electric guitar a while ago, and I've got a decent Martin acoustic guitar on the way.

Awesome. So what actually drew me to the NG-3 was the clear and powerful tone that you seem to get, so it’s encouraging to hear this.

I am also interested particularly in worship gospel. How have you got it setup for that? In worship gospel, it’s important to have smoothness and warmness, and I know the NG-3 is known for its power and aggressiveness, but it seemed like some tweaking, maybe a custom pickup here or there could make it just as enjoyable, smooth and velvety for worship.

Worship is my favourite and I would love to hear people’s experiences with the NG-3 in this particular setting.

I would love to hear the neck/bridge in series some day. I wish I would have done that on my 6 way rather than the all-in droc setting.

Not that it completely addresses the issue, but worth noting that the right angle Neutrik Silent plugs do work with the Combustion recessed jacks:

Killer bass playing and tone, I really like some of the guitar playing also. Drums are good but mixing can be improved and I'm with Nate on the vocals, in an otherwise really good album I struggle with your singer. Don't take that the wrong way though, it's really good overall and I'm enjoying listening through it despite not feeling the vocals.

One of my other various hobbies is weaving. In weaving (particularly on medium and large looms) we use a tool called a "shuttle". I'm hoping to pick up this one:

Yeah.
Never owned any but played several and that whole "ovangkol is a fine replacement for wenge" just does not cut it.
But ok now that I witnessed Sheldon knocking it out the park twice I might reconsider

To be honest I think I miss bubinga more than I would wenge.
I'd probably just spec maple instead of ovangkol as a wenge replacement but maybe that's also prejudice. Not so sure about that one though

Im thinking it’s more of an “option to” then a “replacement for”. Ie, walnut.

that said, I had the privilege of having a 4 string streamer stage 2 and it was glorious! Not sure what the exact special sauce was but I would attribute it a lot to the bubinga body.

I would also love bubinga to still be a viable option. I think it was magically put on this planet specifically to be bass guitars.

After much soul searching and considering my needs versus wants and how little I play these days, I'm considering selling my pink AB1 6 string. It's such a fantastic bass but I have to be real with myself that I don't need it and can always replace it in the future. I'm still debating it, but there's a particular purchase I'd like to make soon and moving Pinky to a new home would certainly make that purchase easier.
