I’m really curious to try Paysons .145In the time I've had it set up, I've learned I'm not a fan of the .170 F#.
I feel like I'd be able to get away with something in the 150 neighborhood and do just okay.
Sorry Andy… look away. I’ll let you know when it’s safe. Why does the cool stuff come up for sale when I'm broke?

Try an audere like I did, or swap them outHey guys got a pickup question and need some opinions
Ok here goes, I got my Droc which I LOVE THE FEEL of the bass playing it. But what I’m not liking is the pickups IMHO don’t sound focused and TIGHT a bit too wide (hope I’m saying this right). I’ve tried differing settings in terms of pickups in every setting. I even Rewired it so it’s in series for the middle pup and put it back to stock. The head I’m using is the Bergantino Forte. The pedal I use is a Sans Amp bass driver. And I’ve sat for hours trying to get them to sound tighter and still no luck. Now I’ve heard you can change the pups what do you guys think.
I want Tight and punchy thanks for any help hope everyone has had a good day !
Is that a preamp ? I dont want a preamp in the bass. I’d prefer to swap the pups.Try an audere like I did, or swap them out

Does yours have the FD-3N's? On the Dingwall site it says those are stock in the D-Roc - I know those are stock on the NG. Initially, I felt they were a little wide sounding as well. Have you tried Sheldon's pickup height suggestion from the setup video? My NG's really "tightened up" when I finally got the pickup height correct and lowered to 1/8 on treble and just about 7/64 on the bass side. Worked great for what I was after.
didnt see the video where could I see this to try it ?

Highly recommend watching all of the videos. Short, to the point and all the info needed for setup. Sheldon is great at explaining this.
I love that they've use an Ampeg BA combo for testing. One of the sweetest sounding amps I've had bar none was the BA210. It just sounded great and full. I sold my markbass combo after getting it lol
When I was able to return to playing bass (other than in my head) after a years-long hiatus, I enjoyed playing through a B-15R for a while. Lovely tone in a compact package.

That's on the complete opposite end of the product line, I would love to come across some of the vintage gear everyone loves so much.
