Dingwall Owners Club

Where is that thread of someone who was looking for a bass like that with a specific serial number?

that’s not it. It was an older one yet.

Hey, just wondering does the Z and Skylar has the same neck profile (the thinner flatter ones) compared to the AB?

Thanks in advance!

same neck. Different frets and body wood combo. Mando frets and ash/alder body(Sklar). Compared to banjo frets and generally ash/ash body (Z)

So for a super J.....Nickel strings or SS? :bassist:

I love SS generally on my long scales but prefer NS on the supers. Seems to fill a mix better.

Tech trek tomorrow night!
I stopped Jared and talked to him for a bit. He seems like the quiet serious guy in the band who needs to be super prepared to go on stage, so he was kinda short til I busted out a pic of my ab1 and ab2, then he talked my ear off lol

they killllled

I saw them (Archspire) last Friday in Detroit, and they were amazing!
For those of you not so familiar with Archspire and their Tech Trek tour, watch the link below.

I think he’s got a billion things on his mind(like keeping the precious Z safe) amongst other things making casual convo a challenge at times. I know I get that way But he’s a really cool guy probably depending when you catch him….. AND what you catch his attention with. Dingwalls are a sure win!!

Dean and oli definitely had the more extroverted personalities for sure, but Jared is how I am when I am playing a show. I don’t wanna take to anyone before and after I go crawl in a hole and ruminate on the one note I missed and how it makes me a terrible human being lol

Many thanks to Nate for passing on this Zebra 4 to my care. I have been after a 4-string Voodoo/Zebra for some time, and I am thrilled to have this one! Sheldon just sent me a photo from an old Dingwall catalog, and this actual bass is in it! The serial # is 1177, which probably puts this around 1996 or so. Man, it is in great shape! Thanks for taking such good care of it, Nate! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Thanks for sharing that. I have seen some of Jared's vids but not the band. I just watched some live footage as well. Not my thing but man, to pull that off live is something else! The guitarists are really good too, very tight. Well done for what they are doing.

I’m all honesty, I wouldn’t have ever listened to them of my own volition as it was beyond my ability to appreciate. I happened to catch them live when the album relentless mutation first came out when I was at a venue to see another band.

I was blown away and instantly needed more. It was the most technically flawless performance I had ever witnessed and the album is an epic masterpiece. This band was a game changer for how I comprehended the “extreme” depths of metal. It’s a very powerful experience catching them live!

Since then I listen differently to this type of genre. But I totally get it. I didn’t think I’d dive deeper into the abyss the older I got :cigar:
