So I put 2 Nordstrand Big Single 4 Pups in my Droc. I put one in the middle and the bridge while leaving the neck pup standard.

Gotta say I’m actually diggin the variety my bass has.

Just put on my Kalium strings a got about a month ago.

They don't seem to have much bass response at all. Thin sounding so far.

I should note it's a fairly light gauge for F# standard, but it's pretty close to the Curt Mangan set I was using for the same tuning. The Kalium has a taper on the F# and B, where the CM were just THICC the whole way down.

Anyone have a similar experience with them?

I use Kalium but I use standard gauge. IMHO to me they sound good but of course gauge and music and playing style and equipment used play a factor I’ve learned. But to me they sound good.

Can you describe the tonal change? What is the pricing on the Noordies? Has anyone compared Big Singles to FDVs?

So back at that subject again....I got myself two Enki cases and wondering whether its worth keeping the gig bags...Has anyone sold theirs and just used hard cases? Might be 2-3 up for sale soon too!

I have only used hard cases. If had used gig bags my basses would be splinters by now...
So I rest my case... (I am so sorry about that, but I am a dad so I guess I am entitled to a dad joke once in a while. Slap me if I go overboard... man, sorry again... )

I keep a hard case for each bass for storage and flight travel and i have a gig bag that can fit any of them for car trips.

I would keep your bags though in case you sell later.

Hey guys question, I told a buddy I’d help him record some tracks cause their bass player is for some reason afraid to record.
Thing is my DRoc is tuned to standard E tuning. I’ve gone to Drop D and even C# with no issues. His music is in B. What would you guys recommend for this tuning ? Thicker gauge strings ? (I use standard 45-105) and if I go heavier for this project would I need to get a new nut to adjust to that string ?

I would just say it’s a good a time as any to get a 5er and not worry about the restring… :D:D
