I'm in the beginning stages of thinking ordering a new custom ABZ, probably a 5 string. I have 3 Afterburners all bought used and since I got them I don't play anything else so I will likely move some old fashioned parallel fret basses and treat myself 
I don't feel I'm serious enough just yet to contact a dealer or Dingwall directly with these questions so I'm just looking for general opinions I guess.
One reason I'm looking ABZ is for the lighter weight. Would a wenge/wenge neck be significantly heavier than maple/maple? I won't to maple/wenge because I already have two of those. One reason I like wenge is because of the raw feel, being a Warwick fan since the 90's. Do Dingwalls wenge necks feel similar with just a raw oil finish?

Yeah turns out the Combustions look way better without the pickguard. The Pau fretboard looks pretty killer too
Honestly that grain is too mismatched for my taste. That's like a visual nails-on-chalkboard for me.

wenge is heavier then maple. It’s usually noticeable.
From my perspective over here it seems painfully pricey. I just saw a brand New NG leave a store locally for $3k CAD. this shows at $3700+

I had an ABI that had a wenge neck. It was a 6 string that was right at 9 lbs.
Dingwall gets their wenge crazy smooth. It still has that great feel, the grain just doesn't seem as open as other wenge necks I've had.
That's the only Dingwall wenge neck I've played though.

My ABZ 5 has a wenge/wenge neck and it's super super light. According to the (old) website we're talking like maybe 100-200g weight difference which is negligible, really. Great feeling and fast neck. Can highly recommend. What electronics do you have on the other 3 ABs? I've got the Glock on mine.
If I were you, I would contact a dealer now, you have a decent wait ahead of you. Albeit, totally worth it!
Get a preamp, if you have three passive Dingwalls it’s time, you already love them and it’s really nice to have the boost / cut dimension.
Wenge is heavier than maple but to me, it’s a negligible difference for weight, unless you’re super conscious, have shoulder issues or worry about potential neck dive. (I’ve never had neck dive on a Dingwall). Get the tone woods you love most, build your dream Dingwall, other bass guitars become secondary.
To me, a Dingwall wenge neck / wenge board sounds way more “wenge” than a maple neck / wenge board. No one does wenge better than Dingwall.
Wenge necks with a Dingwall are almost glass like smooth, to me that’s the polar opposite of 90s sticky Warwick wenge. Both sound great! You can change your build specs up until they start working on it, roughly 3-4 months before receiving it. Take the plunge and secure your place in line.
