I put the hybrid treble control in my older Afterburner II at the time and that's what it is: treble boost above the centre detent and tone control below the centre detent. The tone works in both active and passive, but the treble boost only works in active. It's a great thing to have.

I play in a rock, indie, pop cover function band and have been looking at a Dingwall NG3.

Completely different from the norm which is why I like it. I’ve had some people telling me it won’t work for this genre but it’s a bass at the end of the day. If a jazz can work in metal, why can’t a Dingwall in rock, indie, pop ?

I play my Dingwalls all across the spectrum (jazz, rock, funk and church). Works great in any setting!!

Confirmed the operation of the treble pot on the Glockenklang preamp in my Super J.

Active mode allows for wide Q peaking boost centered at 18khz when above the center detent, and passive tone knob style low pass filtering when below the center detent.

Passive mode allows for passive tone knob style low pass filtering when below the center detent, and no functionality when above the center detent.

Toggling between the active and passive modes with the EQ controls centered results in no change to tone or output level, provided the battery in the bass has sufficient charge.

I like 2 / 5 / 6.
6 makes an interesting "kind of tort" from afar that changes upclose (I usually hate tort). 5 is classy, elegant. 2 is raw and a nice intermediate color between body and fretboard.
I found the other 3 too vibrant and distracting for my taste.

2 & 5 are my favorites with that particular finish.

Nr. 4 also looks great, but would probably work better on a different finish color.

#5 reminds me of Dingwall’s old Baltic amber pickguards. It’s the only version of the 6 you shared I’d be interested in.
