I just Nolly'd my KK3 and swapped the FD3's from El Lobo Negron (my black NG5'er). I took out the Nordy guts and went Darkglass, pumped it up to 18V from the 9V Nordstrand. Sounds sick!!

I love Nordstrand preamps, but I just never was inspired by the KK3 guts for my applications. The preamp didnt seem to really do anything until you were at the furthest extremes of each pot rotation. They are marked as linear pots too. All the wiring looked great, just very strange behavior in mine that I never could gel with.

One of these popped on Ish Guitars in Syracuse a week ago last Friday. I was owed a bunch of money from work and it was coming in by wire on Tuesday/Wed. It was gone by the time I woke up on Monday morning. Missed by that much.

I love that it has alder and wenge. I also love that it has that color shift finish. Congrats. I’d love to hear how it sounds with the DG pre.

Before I put up an ad I'll check here for first.
I'm gonna sell the ABZ and order one in a color more my style. If anyone has one for trade in excellent condition hit me up. Don't care about what pickups or pre it has but do want it to be active. Not the biggest fan of coffee table tops but if something looks good it is good. Can add cash to make a deal. amazing bass but I was looking into stripping the finish and getting it repainted and realized someone out there might really like this finish.

Love WPB!! Wish I could afford it. But I’ll be happy with my new to me Nolly sixer in Dark Forest Green.

I think you’re doing the right thing selling it to acquire something more your taste vs depreciating it in a quite drastic way.

Im not huge into blue either. The right blues are amazing and a solid “YES!!” But most are “eeeeehhhh, Nah!”

I was considering maybe a sky blue sparkle or something. Maybe a color close to the konkiel. But thank you for the reassurance! I always suspected the ABZ would be the one for me. Light weight and simple. I am a little more motivated to load the P tone and super fatties into my Droc now.

Someone will love this one as is no doubt!!!

Oh why did you let it go? It looks stunning even with the frets

Also, we have a similar taste in basses. I have always enjoyed that.

Someone is looking for a lightweight 5 string.
I suggested looking into the ABZ model but I haven't owned one/dunno how much they weight, really. They are lighter than the ABII, right?
Anyway, maybe some of you could drop in there and help.

Owner of a NG3 5st and I absolutely love it. Playing it through a DG Microtubes 900 into a fearless F210 by Jhawk. Running a broughton hpf/lpf as an always on pedal. Pix attached. Cheers!
