I've ordered before, strings are ok but it's still outside of the EU => import duties
Newtones are good strings imo, just don’t get double wound/the platinum option if clarity on the low B or lower is what you seek.
Took the plunge on this, after listening to @BurningSkies clips, all of your posts and comments and carefully looking at stills from John Fox bass YouTube channel to confirm via screen shots the reach to the low C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab isn’t another mile away vs a Fender Shaped Object 5er.
Bad news: I picked 2 day expedited shipping for $40 more and got a UPS tracking number that it shipped standard and will take over a week to arrive. Ugh!

125$ + lets say 30$ shipping so that's 155$ +25% tax is 212$ plus another 30$ for state shipping is 242$, nearly doubling the price tag of the strings alone.
You also have to battle the insipid state post that refuses to send the tax form on email (they can, and will if you sit in a phone line for ~1 hour and ask them to. But the default is mail) which you then pay online anyway! Assuming you receive and pay the tax within a week- otherwise they send the package back. Most times they will send you an item declaration form first (again by mail) which you fill out and send back to them, then the import tax forms arrive a week later, then your items (if paid for) arrive yet another week later.
Importing outside EU takes several weeks and is costly. Most Scandinavians avoid it like the plague.
Hi all, new owner of a NG2 4 string. I’ve had the bass for a couple of weeks. My left fretting hand elbow started hurting and I’m wondering if it’s the new bass or playing more than before.
I’m used to playing a sire V7 jazz with a thin nut width of 1.5”. The width of the NG feels really wide for me, and the string spacing is wider than the V7.
At age 61, I really started practicing regularly about a year ago. My goal at the moment is fix the elbow.
I am/was trying to find a “comfortable” bass. Dingwall kept coming up as the bass to go to for comfort. “Comfortable” is a thin neck, shallow C neck, radius above 8 and low action. The NG is “light weight” has great action but a wide neck and string spacing.

Does the bass not have a strap pin on the back of the body rather than in the traditional edge of the body by the bridge? As in the pic below of my D-Roc. Because that strap placement was designed to make the bass more confortable for the neck hand as it moves the centre of gravity closer.

I don’t think anything neck wise should be impacting your elbow. That sounds more like a technique thing. I saw a Scott’s Bass Lessons video about common bass player pains, might be worth looking up to rule out your technique as the culprit.
Getting frustrated just reading about the egregious tax and processes. When you have to call and hold for an hr, is that a one time call to approve online tax forms and payments for that shipment AND future shipments? Or every time you receive a package you’d have to call?
