Combustions are all post-fire...Hey guys! New to the Dingwall club, just picked this old girl up!
I would really appreciate any info from you knowledgeable people as I can’t find much about it online. It is a Dingwall combustion, serial number 80.
I understand it has an EMG preamp, is it possible to mod this easily to make it have a passive mode? The preamp definitely has a hiss to it.
Are the pickups wired in series or parallel? Do these model pickups have a reputation for any particular tone compared to other Dingwall pickups (brighter, smoother, etc.)
It is missing the back battery cover. Anyone know how I could find or make a replacement?
Thanks so much! View attachment 5381825 View attachment 5381826
Ok so I caved and bought a Droc, yay! What guitar stands do y’all use for the Droc? I can’t seem to position it in a normal floor stand without it feeling like it will tip over. Makes me nervous so I don’t end up playing the Droc as much as I’d like. Am I missing something?
Similar to SemiDriven there, I use the hercules ones which more hang from the headstock. I currently use a Hercules GS432BPLUS if you want the specific model. I hang three Dingwalls off of it, one of them my Prima Artist, at shows and at home. It's solid and works well. I've even moved it with three basses hanging on it from green rooms to stage without any issues.Ok so I caved and bought a Droc, yay! What guitar stands do y’all use for the Droc? Right? I think @Selta has no option in the matter. It's obligatory now.Come on, have some compassion. Guy needs to pay for a funeral. Morally speaking, buying it is the right thing to do.

Sell the AB?I don't need another 6 string, but, dammit. I'd feel so bad with this ever growing Dingwall stable when I can't play them all, all the time. And it's going to be REAL HARD to take either the Prima or the Bloodmoon Z out of my hands as go-to instruments.
Hah. No way. We've played too many shows, too many memories, and too good of instruments to let them go.Or maybe you need someone to take the Prima or Bloodmoon off your hands then?
But it's gorgeous!I'm in trouble ya'll

NoooooGot this email from JFB yesterday. I was tempted to give a silly price, but my luck it would've been some impatient fella with disposable income.
