For me (in series) it's combining old school (P-tone) with new school (FDV).

Just right (ala Goldilocks & the Three Bears). :cigar:

Oh ... that is tough. Physically destroying another PU via magnets. :eek:

I have that combo for more than 3 years now and don't see any change.
I can't solo the middle PU though as I have the classic switch. So I can't really test the issue.
The only position that engages the middle PU is bridge and middle together and I don't see anything strange there. Still the loudest combination.

Now what to do ...

If it doesn't bother you, you probably don't care.

I think Dingwall bans it because, being luthier, they have no choice but to warn us of the potential risks.
Just in case.

Similar conundrum for me. I also never noticed an issue, but then again I typically play Neck/Bridge. I also have switches for my P-tone.

It’s a 2021 ABII, which was originally built for NAMM 2021 to show off Dingwall’s segmented fretlines for Dingwall’s fretless offerings. However, rather than going to the show, it instead had a new ovangkol neck built and was sent to the brilliant George Baldwin. Here it is in action being played far better than I could ever hope for:



Dingwall really helped me with this one, with Ryan (who I think frequents this forum) giving me the extra background, and Evan helping me find the strap I was looking for.

It joins an NG3 and D-Roc Custom but brings something else entirely to the table with its Glockenklang preamp and chambered walnut body.

I have done this. The order was different, and the pairs were specifically all parallel, none were in series. It was fine. I find bridge solo to be useless for what I do. I also didn't like NM in parallel at all. Other than that I found uses for the other settings. The MB parallel setting is oddly more usable than MB series in many settings, but at the same time is a way less exciting sound, so that one is a take it or leave it, even though it was formerly my most used setting.

I removed that switch and replaced it with the usual 6-way that's described as "the best of the 3X and D-Roc switches in a single package" offered by Mo. I did re-order the settings, but they're all the same otherwise.

What modifications are needed to put a 6-way switch into a Super Series?

Be aware that position 1 is the selector all the way back at the bridge pickup. I had a rotary made and what I thought of as position 1 is the neck pickup. It was my fault, I got exactly what I asked for. It was bugging me too much and I went back to the standard rotary.
