OK, my long-awaited SP1 is shipping soon. It's a white 5-string with the red Pablo/tort pickguard. If anyone getting a different 5-string SP1 soon wants to swap with the gold pickguard, I'm jonesing for the gold-on-white look! I think the red tort would look great on any of the other colors. PM me if interested.
There was rumblings a while back that Dingwall may offer pickguards for sale in their shop eventually. Not sure if that will come to fruition
I’m hoping that happens soon. I have a white 4 string SP-1 that’s supposed to ship out this week and would love to get a gold one for it. Just something about the gold and white combo.
Afford it AND play it without sweating blood and having nightmares about damaging it.
For that price it’s insane it doesn’t come with a case (one of those hiscox ones you can pretty much stand on).
I honestly wonder if anyone has toured that involved at least one flight with the gig bags.

I also feel like I remember seeing/hearing something from dingwall saying that ease of swappability/availability of other pickguards was supposed to be a selling point, could be misremembering though.
PSA: I don't think the "I want all the Dingwalls" phase ever ends.
It just gets more expensive. I want the padalka prima…. I will not buy it though.

I remember hearing that, too. I think Sheldon said it in the video I did at that Guitar Summit
I bet it also looks awesome without any Pickguard.
A big shout out to Payson Strings. I had a bad b string on a new set of harmonic flats and payson replaced that string and threw in a brand new set for the trouble. Now everythings is good! These strings are fantastic! The low b integrates so well with the other strings. Much better than on other flat- or roundwound sets that I have tried on my ABZ!
SP-1 gets here Saturday!

Confirmed the problem was dead batteries and the blueEQube works without issue. The low B string is huge. Time to clean it up and install fresh strings.

if so, hell yeah! The sole complaint I could muster up about the older Canadian ones is finding pickups. If you want a P-Tone, it's difficult to find, for example. But, that's pretty nit-picky.Does that mean you bought it?
Yes, but I have to wait for the hold to be over to bring it home.
And I agree, the tones are not the typical p/j front and rear tones. That was throwing me off a bit because there is a mid resonance I’m not used to (maybe from the thin-line cutout design?), but it gave very strong Anthony Jackson w/ Michel Camilo vibes and so it is coming home.
