I was thinking about this for my ABZ-5 as well but thought, instead of drilling a hole to add a switch is there a way to use a push-pull pot to incorporate this switch?

Hey guys!! I have a Combustion and Ive been experiencing a weird problem, the volume does not go down all the way. With both of the pickup's volume knobs turned all the way down, the bass still outputs a signal, its a bit quieter, but it still outputs.
Also, while I was messing with it last weekend, the kneck pickup completely quit working, it would output nothing, and then at that point with both volumes turned off, the bass was muted. Then it randomly went back to doing what I previously described.
Any thoughts?

It will be my pleasure to meet Sheldon again and see what the fuzz is all about those NG-2 green 'bustions and I look forward to meet Nolly in person, as usual I will take lots of pics of the new basses, and will record some of the master classes (Lee Sklar, John Taylor, Roger Glover, TM Stevens etc)
It should be fun. The London Bass Guitar Show is our "smaller scale" Namm but, unlike Namm it's big on bass and anything bass related, amps, effects, strings etc, no drums, keyboards, trumpets, skinny geetars and all that distracting nonsense, just bass bass bass. Yay!

I hope I passed the audition-If I get a number, I think I'll stay in this club for a while!

True. Numbers ended up being exclusionary. Besides, people thought they were 'out' of the club if they had to sell their basses, even though they were valued 'members' and still love Sheldon's work. If people want to advertise, you can just put "Dingwall Club Member" in your signature line.
They seem to be going for around $1K (plus or minus a little) here in the classifieds.
I'm curious about what my fellow Dingaholics are DASing for. If you had $3-4k burning a hole in your pocket, what would you be throwing down a deposit on?
My order: Wenge neck with blocks, transparent white over ash, either black pearl or tort pick guard, four-string Super J with the whole electronic package, please and thank you. But then again, there's transparent plum or purple to consider...

I just satisfied my DAS with this trans-black ABZ-5 number 4979 from Bass Central and love the way it looks and plays.
It's light and really sings, has a great B-string and even tone between strings. Love the 4-way pickup selector and those pickups are killer.
After trying out the different pickup combinations and voicing, I'd like to see how the neck pickup sounds with series wiring to get more mid emphasis from it.
I contacted tech support with a picture of the pickup selector and was told it's wired in parallel.
I'm thinking about a volume pot with a push/pull DPDT switch for series/parallel neck pickup option but have a couple questions.
Is the bridge pickup is better in series or left in parallel? Which way gives a fatter tone?
Also, has anyone tried a StellarTone Tone Styler on an ABZ? I like the tone control provided but the range of different rolloff points offered with the StellarTone with very little loss of mids is intriguing.

Yeah, I could see this one satisfying for a long time!
Transparent is the only black finish I care for and I'm sure this one looks even better 'in person'.
I would leave the bridge pickup in series. No experience with the Stellartone, myself. Enjoy that beauty thoroughly and frequently!
I've tried a Stellartone in my former ABZ. It worked wonder preserving clarity in another bass, but the Dingwalls are already so good at that I didn't find it very beneficial.
