Being an upright person, my previous statement of 'not understanding' did not take into account someone intentionally posting poor-quality images to hide the true condition of an instrument. I'm not necessarily including this seller, but there certainly are some people who seem to refuse to acknowledge the truth that "what goes around comes around" (biblically speaking: you reap what you sow.). :rollno:

Thank God for someone with good photography skills! Honey amberburst must be beautiful. I have only seen them (looking sweet!) on-screen, and they always look 3-5x better in 'real life'.

Except for Luddite me who doesn't own a cell phone. I intentionally stopped my advance up the technology curve at personal computers and digital cameras.

People who do photography can do amazing things with smartphone optics, for sure, but they also own proper cameras and achieve more with them. People who do do poor smartphone pics would do poor pics with good cameras too.

I like my smartphone. It's useful in many ways, but photography is not one of them. When I recently fell off my bike and the camera lens was smashed I literally lost nothing. I have no intention to replace the phone as it still works otherwise.

I guess I'm trying to say is, it's the uncaring user first, improper device second.

One of the interesting things about HAB, is that it looks brown-to-yellow in natural light, almost like the lighter portions of a PRS tobacco burst.

It's only on camera or under stage lights that it really pops. Another one of Sheldon's subtle yet eye-catching colour schemes...

Sheldon is especially gifted in finishing his instruments, for sure. My Colaburst jazz also changes color emphasis in cool and attractive ways under different lighting conditions. :cool:

You'll have four wires coming off the neck pickup to the rotary switch. You will cut two and solder them together. Which two? Email the shop with the number that's on the back of the pickup and serial number of your bass. It's a very simple and easily reversable mod. It moves you in the p tone direction.

About the photo impared sellers: my best buy ever was a poorly photographed AB-1 on Craigslist from a total technophob. He didn't get Paypal. Wouldn't ship a bass. He was willing to drive an hour to meet me halfway, and accept cash. Old school, but we both walked away happy. ( very happy in my case!). He was a very nice older gentleman, we enjoyed a cup of coffee, and a chat.

The bass languished on Craigslist for weeks. By the time I did the legwork to deal with the guy he was pretty motivated. It was a terrible photo, but a great deal.

Are you sure? I have a P-Tone square shell FD3 for an older Afterburner that I ordered not too long ago. If they still have the moulds, they should be able to make one. If it's not on the online store, you could probably call the shop and ask or send a message to Barry.

Now that I am thinking about it, it might have been a couple of years ago that I bought it.

Don't worry about it though, I have a parallel/series switch for the neck pickup on my AB-II and the P sound in the series setting is very much what you'd expect.

You could also install a switch instead of hardwiring the neck pickup to series.

I checked on the dingwall store they where out of stock and I believe that it says that they are no longer in production.
