Yep a Dingwall and the B7K are a brutal combination.
The light was just right this afternoon for another pic of my beautiful monster:
The demo I recorded on a couple months ago is finally available, Happily Ever Never | Julia Wolfe
I used my ABZ6, into an Avalon U5, minimal EQ in the mixing process.
The 5 tracks were recorded in 2 hours, mixed/ fixed/ mastered in 4, split the session over three days.
I'm excited to be able to share great pop music. And now I've got pro-recorded tracks to add to my résumé.

Contemplating drinking the Reverse P koolaid. I have T.I. Flats on my SPJ5. It came with the Dingwall Nickels, which I currently have on the SJ5 and dig now maybe even more so than the Stainless. Anywho...re: my contemplating going reverse, I *think/perceive* (as one could expect) that the differentiated string lengths means that the sweet lowend spot between the P- Pickup and the Fingerboard is also differentiated. The thinner-than-I-like Guages on the T. I.'s D, & G produce a realitivly thin/slightly bright tone/response, as compared with the lower strings. I get a slightly better balance on the D, & G in this regard (when going from lower strings to the upper strings), when I shift R. H. fingering more toward the Fingerboard when doing notes on D & G. I am suspecting that perhaps going reverse on pickup placement will tame this down a bit. Contemplating switching the placement...and if I like, ordering a new Pickguard. Truth be told, I've never cared for the look of the reverse P....but sound is obviously the driving factor.
Can someone provide a description or point me to a post explaining the control layout for a passive, 2 PUP ABIi? I like my ABI (thanks again Singlemalt/Mark) so much, am starting the planning phase of a build. Also, would there be any benefit to a P-tone PUP in the bridge position?

No benefit to the P tone bridge PU: it comes equipped with the bridge PU wired in series.
Ok, $90 savings for only one P-tone PUP. The photos I've seen in the Dingwall gallery show 4 knobs or 5. So both configurations are active? EDIT: Ok, went through the gallery frame by frame and found 2 out of all the ABIIs with 3 knobs, so it seems most people opt for pre-amps. Based on my ABI, a pre-amp (for me) is not needed.

I assume it is...haven't lifted the PG as of yet to see. It was build last year...so..not sure if that is any indicator. If I get a wild hair today...I may look under the hood so to speak. May even try to reverse 'em, albeit w/o a PG for now.
Back on my ABZ for a 4 hour set yesterday, after a month off because of treatment for frozen shoulder, and a couple of weeks playing my P-Bass V because of lingering loss of range of motion.
The ease of play, the growl, the perfect balance string to string and pretty much anywhere on the fingerboard were just as I remembered them. What a treat to switch back to the Dingwall from an otherwise very nice parallel-fret bass!
Best of all, my arm and shoulder feel fine this morning, which is a huge relief.

Your bass should be ready for the 'reverse' configuration. Here's a pic of my 2013 SP4 'MacGyvered' to play in reverse w/o pickguard:
I just traced the 'guard on cardboard to make a mount for the controls. The experiment went well - I discovered that I prefer the standard configuration on my SP4.
I think a lot of the finishes they offer look stunning! Like the look of the Super P and ABZ, but the NG2 has really got my attention.
Had my very first gig(s) ever this weekend! Opened for a couple other local bands on Friday night and played two sets at a town festival on Saturday. It's safe to say I'm hooked!
I didn't expect the Dingwall curiosity to show itself at shows so small but sure enough people had to ask about the "crooked guitar" haha.

Not too shabby... I played my first gig on a pile of parts from broken basses that I put together.
