Dingwall Owners Club

Wait... Combustion 3x?!

Hm. If you move the current pickups in a new Combustion to the "Nolly" position, is there room for a 3rd, or do you need to do some routing?
I should pull the pickguard tonight and look...

It is a post purchase mod... I bought a trans black/rosewood combustion. Have to route the body for the pick up, and I am adding a DG tone capsule.

Yesterday was by Bday and my wife made me a dingwall cake...

I love her.

All is forgiven between me and my baby.

I recently reported on an upper fret mishap that left me embarrassed after a solo.

Tonight, I had a 4 hour gig that rocked hard from the downbeat, and the ABZ felt and sounded absolutely awesome. I had the gain pushed a little further than normal on my MB Fusion, and got a really nice, touch responsive growl when I dug in.

Sounded great when I took an ad hoc solo during a drum break, and no flubs in the upper register. I must just have been having a bad night last time.

Great job! learning all the Polaris material is on my TODO list.

Thanx and good luck - between dayjob, music, sports and tentative social life there's no way I'll manage to learn all of the album. Quite glad I got to do this one song though.

I would like to get a 6-string bass, mostly because of Karnivool's Jon Stockman.
I also miss a long scale Dingwall ever since I sold my ABZ - got a SPZ5 (ash - maple/maple), older style active SJ4 with super-fatties (alder - maple/pau ferro), and newer style passive fretless SJ5 with FD3's (ash - maple/ebony)

Debating between waiting for a Combustion 6 (or - hopefully - a 6-string version of the NG-2 for the pickup placement) or going the extra mile with a Z2 (in transparent red with wenge neck & fretboard, ideally passive as I don't ever use onboard preamps). In this case I need to start saving and selling stuff.

What would you guys do?

I like that last option myself, although I'm pretty good at spending other people's money!!!;)

Just a heads-up, there is a very pretty AB1 5 string for sale on SevenString.org. It's a few years old (has the BluEQube), some sort of reddish 3 tone burst, no fancy wood top, and the guy is selling it for cheap. Of course, I messaged him about it, but I'm not going to buy it.
