I once had a domestic wire transfer from a patent attorney I work with in New Hampshire held up for the same reason. It was a wire between two American citizens who are engaged in the practice of patent law, because the client, also an American citizen and a former member of the Army Corps of Engineers, has a name that sounds Arabic. The Attorney that sent me the wire called the matter Malik-001. Took days to get my money. Really Pissed me off!!!

Honestly I feel bad because I know the seller is in need right now. We did wire because it seemed like the quickest way. I happen to have a great bass to play in the meantime. ;)

Hi all - for the last several months I've kicking around the idea of adding another P Bass but wasn't sure what I wanted (Vintage Fender, Lakland, G&L, Warmoth?)

I wasn't even considering Dingwall. I didn't know they made a Super P and had no idea they were made in Canada.

Then I played one

Then I read all 230+ pages of this thread

Then I placed my order - confirmed on December 31st

Inspired by @BuffaloBob4343 with a definite nod to @MDBass (for the Black PG and all the live action shots):

Super P4
Trans-White Ash
Wenge-Wenge
Chrome hardware
BWB Pickguard

Thanks all for all the great information and passion for Dingwall in this thread - as well as being great DAS enablers.

I couldn't have done it without you - lol

Great decision! I grabbed a Super P5 used back in September and it has done nothing but good for me.

Question for Combustion owners. Do any of you use an angled cord plug on the bass side? If so which plug suits you best? Over the years I have converted all my better cords and wireless transmitter to right angle on the bass side but I was surprised and a bit disappointed to find they don't work well with the recessed cup & jack on my NG2.

I'm guessing the Neutrik locking 1/4" jacks on the non Combustion models do not have this issue but there is no way to make that conversion on the Combustion.

I've always found angled cable ends to be less reliable than their straight counterparts...across the board regardless of what bass is being played. There's no advantage I can find to using 90deg cables with the locking jack on my older Neutrik equipped Dingwall. Probably just an old school preference thing for me.

Clearly not my experience or I would be asking. And for all my basses with both front and side body jacks it's always provided a less stressed and cleaner looking cord path through my strap and of to wherever it's headed.

But, all that aside I'm looking for a possible solution that maintain my current cords of choice. If none exist then I have to swap out some angled for straight ends.

I'm was an angled plug guy too for the same reasons. However while designing the jack location and looking at all the options for plates etc we chose the path we did even though it is only compatible with a straight end. It was the best, most solid option. The Neutrik jack is not an option for retrofitting in a Combustion/NG2 body.

Interesting. I actually use angled plugs on my Dingwalls. There is a particular orientation of the angled plug that works. I guess I'm just used to rotating the plug to find that working orientation before inserting as well as removing.

I typed in Neutrik plug adapter, and a ton of items showed up (in google images), so maybe sift thru those and see if someone makes a male end with a female insert at the other end...also, maybe theres a way to add a spacer behind the existing neutrik to help build it out far enough past the bass body? Theres usually more than one way to skin a cat. Hope you get it sorted out :)
