You could huck it up to Bass Central near Orlando but that's still 4 hrs I think. And who knows if they've got anything on display.

Plenty of string options on the Super series. Tricky part is the B string length, since there isn't much room between the nut and the tuner.
Sets that have worked for me: the Dingwalls, DR low riders, DR sunbeams, TI JF345, and I've used a number of four string sets with Dingwall B string.
Since I'm going E-C now, just about anything will work, and I'm running the DR pure blues. String sets in waiting for E-C set up include the lightest pure blues (100-40, 30 C), TI JF 344 and a TI C, and some DR Hellborgs with a sunbeam C.
After my AB 1 six string sold, I really missed the C string and chord possibilities. Trading the low B for a high C worked great. Turns out my brain missed having the open E on the low side.
I thought the biggest difference in playing between the AB's and the super series was the bridge spacing.

Well, it's different, and good in its own way.
My blue AB-I, I'm going to call a "1.5" since it has a glockenklang pre in it, has the P-tone pickup in the neck position, and the normal FD-3 in the bridge spot. It's a pretty wild setup.
The red AB-I has FD-1's in it and just the BluEQ switch... thing. Compared directly using the same preset in my Axe-Fx II, it's way more mellow sounding. Pull up the BluEQ and it gets a big more aggressive and more to my taste (I'm contemplating reversing the wiring on it).
I'm going to play it as-is for at least a month or so. Having the different "flavor" available is nice, but I may also seek out a 3 knob preamp to drop in. The hard part will be finding a 3 knob setup that's 3 band, and that I can keep the rotary setup (even though I use the series setting probably a good 90% of the time). Anyone know of a stacked vol/4-position rotary knob? xD
But, like I said - playing it stock for at least a month. I don't want to make immediate changes before playing it at a couple of rehearsals and gigs.

Silly question, but anyone ever had a straplok pop out of the rear mount? First gig with the Z3 tomorrow and planning to use the rear button. I'm sure Sheldon wouldn't put it on there if it weren't 100% secure, but I'm really doing some mental gymnastics about the angle on those little ball bearings! I'm a worrier though 
I don't know what's so stressful about it. I imagine it's a small degree of what rock climbers go through when they first see the thin little ropes and carabiners they use. I know it should work. But like, seriously. Is it gonna? Cause I don't want to drop a bass on stage. It does put the bass in a great position though so I really want to trust it.
You'd be amazed how fast you can move when your bass heads south.
I'm new to strap locks, and I've had the lock not fully engage, and the thing popped out. I'm pretty sure it was user error. Never happened again. But I do a double check every time now. I trust them now.
I would have liked to have that rear lock on my six string, it was a reach to the nut.

Wait, pulling up on the toggle or knob should engage the BluEqube making it more polite and reveal the 2.5K mid dip. Sounds like it might be wired backwards perhaps.

I've never lost one once I've tested to make sure they're seated securely. When the receiver on the back of a DW is used, it's not anywhere near your body so there's not much chance of accidentally pressing the release button. Use it, relax and enjoy.
Yeah that one is a boost when pulled out (I think it's a boost anyway lol), it's a mellowed tone when pushed in.... she's a beauty though. Amazing neck on it too. ...maybe I'm biased lol
Well, did some A/B of my two AB-I's. Skipped rehearsal tonight since I'm down and out with something fierce in my head, so didn't get to try in a band context just yet. Sunday, though, barring this illness.
Initial impression still holds for me - I'm definitely going to flip the wiring on the BluEQube (whether or not that reverts it back to "from factory", that's how I'll want it). I did find myself wanting some EQ for some passages... I just instinctively do it when playing and never really noticed until it wasn't there. Not really looking forward to dropping another $200 into this, so we'll see if I can't work something else out. I don't want to change the voice of the instrument too much, so I'm kind of worried about pre selection. The Glock in the other AB-I might "do it", but then... the drillpress would need fired up

When I ran the black oxide locks dry, I noticed that there was always a little powder coming off them.
Dunlop does say to lubricate them, so I give mine just a tiny drop of oil once in a while, and there have been no further indications of wear.
The rear lock improves the ergonomics still further, and makes the reach to the nut of my long-scale ABZ easier than on my 34" Fenders!
