More than speculation. I'm surprised that there hasn't been more excitement from this tease. The D-Bird has been flying on the horizon for YEARS now and Sheldon mentioned that he had something to unveil at the London show. Here it is folks...BOOM BOOM BOOM.
A handful of years ago, these early renderings of what a D-Bird might look like leaked from the shop. I really wonder what it looks like in reality now that it's off the ground.
Coooool! I'm not in the know on these things, so I was being cautious with my words. But a D Bird would be totally awesome. The logo he went with is pure gold from a design perspective. Evocative of golden-era automotive branding and the native american culture those cars wanted to evoke. Very well done.
Also really dig that the headstock is non reverse. A much more attractive choice IMO

I've been deep in the depths of iconography & symbology for a project, and the turquoise inlay 'bird' is pretty brilliant. The thunderbird is a Native American legend, and turquoise is also interconnected with legend, as well as being recognized by modern & pop culture as such.
Note that the wings in the original Gibson Thunderbird logo have three horizontal elements each. The same with the more abstract inlayed Dingwall design, with the 'D' comprising of the lower horizontal element/body. Note that the diminishing 'spread' from top to bottom on the horizontals echo the same 'angle' as the Gibson wingspan.
