Yeah, never know when you need to throw a bass in a case at someone - we should always be prepared.I've only been offered a handful of flying gigs and I didn't trust those to be legit (one off type deals, with questionable promoters). Regionally we do our own transport. I'd use a stock hardshell case for more than that...although I have a few well trashed hard-shells from road use from my PD (pre-dingwall) days. I also threw a bass (in it's case) at someone at one point, and the bass was just fine. Funny, you only have to do that once and people start paying attention.![]()
I bought a Kramer with hardshell case back in 1976 and that thing has fallen off trucks and the bass was still in tune. I still have it, too (in case I need to throw a case at someone) ha ha.
