I am pondering whether to get one of the new ng2 4 strings in addition to my abz 4 string. I am mad in love with the abz. Obsessed. I have read that people are really loving the Ng2. How does the chinese quality stack up? Any further info?

I use the Vertigo as well for My AB V's. They fit perfectly in the neck pocket and have two inches to spare from the top of the headstock.
Paranoid? NO.. that is not in my rep..

When I first looked at these, the rep told me the Vertigo wasn't "Tick" ready, so that is what I was basing my comment on. But this isn't correct as it is now listed as "tick" ready. I think it would depend on whether one liked the idea of top loading or not as to which to get. I have not yet gotten the ABZ in although hope to soon. I was immensely impressed with the NG2/Combustion. And also the setup was spot on needing absolutely no adjustment.
I have the Mono sleeve and have been pretty happy with it. As stated above the handle is on the wrong side but it's fine for local transport.

The sleeve just doesn't quite seem like enough IMO. But maybe I am paranoid. I have even (due to cab room) strapped a raw bass in a seat belt and taken to a gig, but it was a beater bar bass and not a nice bass.
For the longest time I used an anvil type case that even was slung out of the back of a truck and the bass was still in tune.

A rain cover is a nice feature. I believe the Gigblade mentioned above also has a rain cover. Can you post a link to the Gator you are referencing? Is it the GL-Bass Polyfoam or the Pro-Go G-PG Bass? I tried to post links but I get a server error on the pics.
I really like the plain black Dingwall bag that comes with the Super Series. It's got enough protection and storage, isn't unweildy or too heavy, and is really well made. With the thinner neck and angled headstock of the Z I do like the M80, but for the Super or AB series that black bag would be my choice for local transport or car trips.

It fits the AB, Combustion, etc nice and snug but not too tight. Built like a tank. I currently keep my Cirrus 6 in it.
Nice soft microfiber, great handles, neck rest, end padding, hardware protection in case. The outer pockets have cable organizers, tool sheath, ipad holder, and plenty of space for extra strings. And the biggest bonus over the gig blade: it faces the right way.

Is anyone in this thread familiar with the old style 4-way rotary switch? Not the new one with the screw terminals.
I took out all the guts today, getting ready to drill the 4th hole and ream the last 3 to the right size. I thought I took some pictures as I went, but when I went to review them, they were not on my phone. Sigh.
So I have 5 unknown points now on the rotary. The wires that are preset are the wires for the pickups (which, interestingly, don't match, but I don't particularly care about that).
The 4 black dots I believe were black ground wires, but I'm not certain on that, and definitely not at all certain on where they went.
The white dot I believe was signal wire to the volume pot. Again, I may be mistaken on that.
I'm even more tempted to get the screw terminal 4 way switch. I am super cheap though and don't want to spend $60 on one.
So, if anyone can give me clarity on it, I'd very much appreciate it.
I don't know that anyone answered you, so yeah, if you flip it over I think this is what you've got.

I've moved to a Pro-Tec Contego case. It's what the Voodoo came in, and it's become my go to. My old Levy's Dingwall bag that the Rastaburst came in worked well enough but this is another level and has way more storage and padding.

Flip it over and make sure. That could be an earlier version in which case you'll want to talk to someone at the Shop. Sheldon has one or two guys who do all the wiring layouts and would know all the ins and outs of what you have.
Oh, my pot is different than the ones in that photo, and my pickups are only 3 wire. I'll double-check with Sheldon's team, but I think I have it sorted.

Ive been a dingwall player for I think 6-7 years now with my ab2 5. Just got my SJ5 this winter and now have an AB 2 6 on order........ Oh boy I can't wait. It'll follow the same idea as an MTD 635 that was in the for sale section for a while. Maple fb, nat to green burst. Going with a satin finish like the MTD as well. Anywho, here's a photo of my dings as proof I belong here. Lol.
