Yes, my ABI has a Ptone and sounds great (don't know how much the TI Jazz flats have to do with it but no doubt a lot). The strange thing about that is I never use the neck PUP solo'd, I much prefer the neck/bridge in series (massive humbucker tone), or neck/bridge in parallel (Jazz Bass tone), again, never solo neck or bridge.

RE the SJ5XXX paint, that's the beauty of the satin finished transparent paint, no smudges

So I received a Dingwall Levy's gig bag with my AB2 and while I am very impressed with the bags well thought out pockets, nooks and crannies, the build etc . I am finding it is next to useless when I have it on my back... it sticks up so far above my head I have to almost crawl though doors to get through and it wants to fall away from my back, even with the shoulder straps done up real tight. I've been using the mono single and double bags for years now and have swapped my Dingwall into one of those and put the Levy bag away. It's a pity as I really want to love the bag but it's just unusable on my back.

Has anyone else come across this?

I use mono bags as well. I love' em. I have a double and a vertigo.

Awesome mate, thats great news! You make me want to get one of these and I've only had my AB2 for a week now!

I love my ABI, an ABII would be awesome, but for me (5'10", 64 years) the SJ5XXX JUST FITS, my left hand falls into place, and since I've developed tennis elbow in my left elbow, and my fingers are sometimes a little stiff/sore, the 1-4 E-G Country runs are easier and faster on it.

Were I 10 years younger, the ABI would be my home bass and backup, and the SJ5XXX a practice and gig bass. Thank goodness for us senior citizens, they exist. My only problem with the SP5 was the body shape moved the bass left on my lap causing my right shoulder to rise causing pain during long seated practices, standing it was equally perfect to the SJ5XXX.

Yep. Not really a fan of the shoulder strap placement on this bag. Other then that it seems awesome. I'm really curious about the gruvgear gigblade silver. I like the older levys bag better that I have. It came with the hanging hook and even though it's not built as well the ergonomics made more sense.

You are most kind sir! As you can see, I am missing my Z, and I'm glad you are enjoying it!! My quest to quench my DAS has become a full blown crusade for either a Z3 (preferably a 3X) or an AB3x, and preferably the Z over the AB. I know I would be happy with an AB, as I love my ABZ, but I would really like my quest to end in a Z3.

I love the knobs on my AB2 but how the hell are you supposed to actually see what position the knob is at with no markings ont here really? What do people do - paint lines on them, fill in the top dot? Just get used to it??

Should be your treble knob? Just guessing though.

Hmmm. Just for the heck of it did you try in a different pick up selection.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you have a vol, pick up select, low mid, high mid, treble?

Right. My bad. I guess it's a question for Sheldon. I'd have just assumed it woulda been the high mid. I can't remember now on the Ng that I had.....

yes. On my ab2, z3 and sj. I'm thinking it did it on the nolly I had as well. It is such a rare time that I play with passive

Hey, I came up with an untested mod to add passive tone to the Tone Capsule a while ago - in case you're feeling brave

Please note it assumes a different preamp bypass switch wiring than shown in the TC manual so you may have to rewire it;

I have mine pretty well set, and if I move them it is usually a measured amount (grip with thumb and forefinger, turn a certain amount). I have seen some pretty inventive solutions for marking knobs:

Also seen others paint the indent or put a jewel in there.
