I'm wondering the same thing, I have a 2001 Z2 that I love but I wonder how the necks have changed over the years and if there is much of a difference

a few weeks ago I tried out a 4 string combustion. At the time I liked it, but I didnt love it. I went back today and played it again. I loved it. They also had a 4 string ng2 that is tuned F# to A so I had a go on that too. I certainly have no need for alternative tuning, plus the bass is ferrari green which I dont like so there was no question of me buying that bass. The lower strings sounded amazing though. Who would think a low F# would have so much definition? They also had a few 5 string ng2's. I dont play 5 string, but I had a play to get an idea of what the E to G strings sound like. Loved it! They had the new white colour in. It is fantastic! A really beautiful finish. I was very tough, I walked out of the shop without the combustion because I want a white NG2 now. GAS is a painful thing. I dont need another bass, but I sure as hell want one!

Man, I wish my NG2 4 string would come in. I am chomping at the bit to give it a try. My 2nd bass in my band that tunes to CFBbEb is a 34" scale, and I can't stand that. Considering the improvement in using a 35" scale bass, I can't wait to see how the extended scale of the NG2 works out.
