The Low End is fixing to receive two NG2 basses..

I snapped up the 4 string NG2 that was in the classifieds...Been intrigued for awhile and am kind of wanting to go back to a 4 string for my main player.

Yeah, when I saw the Orange 4 string at NAMM I remember thinking, "that's the one!". Be interesting to spend some time with it in the privacy of my own home. Heck, even saved a pic of it on my phone:

I snapped up the 4 string NG2 that was in the classifieds...Been intrigued for awhile and am kind of wanting to go back to a 4 string for my main player.

I had that thought back around the beginning of the year, and sold my AB 5 to buy a Z2-4.
I've been very happy with the swap; I feel that having a Hipshot deturner on the Z2's low string made the sacrifice minimal, and adding a P-Tone neck pickup to the bass made it a slam-dunk.

I hope you're as happy with your Dingwall 4 as I've been!

Sounds great. There arent many clips of ng2's played cleanly. This shows the bass is much more versatile than its portrayed to be. I'm a new convert to Dingwalls and i have had quite a few funny looks and comments. Whats a 45 year old woman doing playing a metal bass in a jazz band? They are great sounding modern basses, thats why.

Some japanese shop (I think?) recorded samples of two Z3s - one with FD3 and one with Super Fatties.
That's the closes thing to a direct comparison of the pickups I've seen. Thought some of you might be interested.

I'd do terrible things for that finish with no pick guard on a SJ3x5/DG tone capsule.

I live way below my means, and have the attitude that I can earn anything if I really want it. Right now I work two jobs, 80+ hours a week. In savings mode as I house hunt. Once I am not in constant down payment savings, I will have a bit of disposable income. A pile of gold it is not, but the boss has told me that she has no problem with me saving for a prima if thats what I really want. I doubt I will ever make that jump, as I actually preferred my combustion and AB1 to the Z1 I had for a bit, but I could see adding a super to the collection.

Just how terrible?

Best to not incriminate my self on the internet, but I have almost no scruples or morals when it comes to gear acquisition.

80 hours a week is no joke! You are a hard working man, and the boss clearly recognizes that.

I'm with you on the Prima Artist. They are incredible basses. But I would rather have 2 or 3 ABs and/or Z's myself.

I'm with everyone on the Prima's. I'd love to have one, but at the same time, I'd rather a couple of AB1s or AB2s spec'd highly. Primas are damn nice looking (and I'm sure, playing)... I just like my ABs and would feel better about playing them out, than a Prima.

I have two jobs. The day job, salaried in regulatory/safety compliance for medical devices/OTC products. At night I cook at a fine dinning restaurant. So I rarely see OT, but dual incomes makes gear acquisition pretty steady.
