NG2 has arrived. Bass sounds awesome and Happychicken set the bass up beautifully before he shipped it (a little too beuatifully, I probably need to bring the action up a bit). Things that surprise me so far:
1. While only a four string, the neck feels beefier than my Super PJ5
2. Definitely prefer the sound when active, but the actual tone tweaks aren't adding a whole lot for my use

In general I bought this as I'd been wanting to try out an NG2 since they came out and I've been thinking I need to go back to a 4 string as my main insturment, so it'll be interesting to see how well I ultimately get along with this.

Man, I like that orange!
You probably have already done this, but if you haven't, reset all your amp eq to as flat as possible and back off on the NG2 pre; I think the NG2 with the DG TC pre is gonna need a different eq than your Super PJ. So start over and see if you have more tonal adjustment. And if you have already done this, in one historic comedian's words, "Never Mind"
I can't decide if I like the blue or orange NG2 best; right now I am leaning towards orange.

So after sitting down with an NG-2 and an afterburner extensively, I've decided the after burner is more for me. Just didn't click with the neck at all, while the AB is the best bass neck I've played aside from the Z series.

Also kinda liked the tone and simplicity of the passive versions. I tweak my rig enough as is, not a fan of tweaking my bass as well. Will also keep the price of a custom down in the future as well. Come on new job, start soon, this old one sucks and the pay is shite

Enjoy it! So perfect! Hopefully soon I'm in a position for a blue 4 string for BEAD!

My NG2 four string should be delivered in a couple of weeks Are you tuning to a low E?

Anyone using flats on an SP5? My Dunlop Super Bright nickels have this really nice, worn in sound that's making think that a set of Chromes might be really nice on it.

I've got a set of La Bella's that I tried on my ABZ6... Great flats, but the ABZ just works best with rounds. If they weren't soooo long I'd try them on my SP.

Four-string feels like driving a hotrod after playing 5 for a long time, doesn't it?

It's mainly that I just don't use the B string when I'm playing by myself. With my old band it made a few things easier and that was enough to make it worthwhile, but I haven't played with them in two years. In the meantime I'm keeping my eye out for the right deal on a Super P4.
