This is the new-to-me Combustion 5 I picked up a few months back. Pups & elex are all stock but I did add Hipshot UL's and a Dunlop strap button in the correct position. What is interesting is that it is S/N #00021 so I'll assume it's from the first batch and pretty much in near mint condition...mods notwithstanding.

It looks like transparent white over alder. I'd never seen it before the Combustion debuted...

Played the SJ5 during service this morning. No need for a switch to toggle between parallel and series for the bridge pickup - it is staying (and slaying!) in series!

The bridge/series neck/parallel is an excellent upgrade tonally over parallel/parallel in parallel. If your neck pu is a 4L, you should mod it for a two way switch giving you the option of running the solo'd neck pu in series. More P-ness.

Hey guys, quick question. What is your preferred pickup settings on your Dingwall? For example, I play an abz in the J bass setting with my EQ flat. That feels the most comfortable to me. I'm not saying I don't use or love the sound of the other settings and variations. Those settings just feel like home for me.

My Afterburners mostly get played with both pickups in series. Sometimes I use just the neck pickup, especially the one that has the P-Tone neck pickup. For EQ, I generally boost the bass a little and roll the tone down (older model ABII with the hybrid treble control, which has a tone control below the detent and treble boost above).
