I really cannot wait!Wow that's a beauty! What preamp and body wood does this have?
So that's one of those weighty non-chambered ones? Can't wait to hear clips!!I really cannot wait!
It's got the glock 3-band and all bubinga body
Oh no sir this one is indeed chambered. I liked the thick low punch of bubinga but also enjoyed the acoustic air of the chambered body...so I went for bothSo that's one of those weighty non-chambered ones? Can't wait to hear clips!!![]()

Love your bass; the ABIIs are amazing! That chambered body does make a difference. We just got one in and I tested it out with a 212, a 112, and a 210/array cab with 3 different amps. Really nice meaty low end and and with that Glockenklang plenty of clean EQ; although I left it flat with all the amps set flat for what I thought was a great smooth and meaty deep sound. Congrats on the bass!Oh no sir this one is indeed chambered. I liked the thick low punch of bubinga but also enjoyed the acoustic air of the chambered body...so I went for both
I know what color to get, Now. Whoa!So when Sheldon posted the NG-2 prototype (yellow with ebony fret board) I was pretty sure I would kick a puppy for that bass. He just posted this Plum Crazy Purple - esk dBird on FB.

This makes me feel all funny, like I'm 11 and don't understand the changes in my body. Pretty sure I would do deplorable things to own this bass.
But do try the Dingwall's on the bass. I LIKE them. Then again, other than Chromes on a fretless (which I liked), and the strings that come on a Hofner Gold Label (which I like), I have never been a flats type sound guy. Traditionally I have used Rotosounds and only last year began using Pure Blues. The standard strings on the ABII sound really good to me.Thanks guys, knowing it's finished and is on its way now is the hardest part of the wait.
I recently put chromes on my thunderbird and live/missed the thump and booty of flats. I'm not really into old school flats, I like chromes and T.I but 5 string sets are expensive and I'm also aware paysons started making a set. Any comparison between the three for dingwalls? I have a feeling T.I's would be my best bet for a modern flat sound, but I have no idea about the Paysons
Stop it! You keep talking like this and I'm going to end up doing something harmful to my already pathetic bank account!!Love your bass; the ABIIs are amazing! Is there any way I can convince you to pull the P-tone and sell that separate?I got my Dcline gaboon ebony knobs with Luminlay lines, very high quality product. They are domed top with an oil finish. I'll get some photo's up tomorrow. These are on my SJ5XXX.
In other news, put my ABI5 up for sale or trade (sniff). Were I 10 years younger I'd never give this 8.1 lb beauty up.
