I saw that CONUS only.......Bah. Whats that aboot Eh?
Please humour my good natured mini rant. It's a general one.
As a guy that will one day buy another DW.
Why is it that my southern neighbours are more than happy to buy a bass from Canada but are so adamant that it's not gonna make the return trip back up north. Is the shipping more difficult from there to here? Shortens the pool up here quite a bit. I got lucky and snagged one of the only two or three Dingwalls I've seen for sale up here in about two years. Now I wish I'd bought at least one of the other two.
CONUS only....Bah. I see this on almost every ad from the US.
End mini rant. Only partially kidding.
I should save my loonies for a DBird anyway.
Nice bass though.
And while I'm on the Dbird thought, is there still plans to have offshore DBirds? I haven't heard anything recently on this.
Canada post doee max out at 1000 insurance. Of course insurance is a scam anyways so...
Chrome B string is long enough for a full scale Dingwall? Or is the Z a 4?I've taken a liking to Chrome flats on both my Z and SJ5 (the only strings I use for recording now) so I obviously had to buy this so could have a 5 string Dingwall with roundwounds, to go with my 4 sting Combustion, which I also has roundwounds. Yeah, I know, I need a recovery program. Four Dingwalls now. But they are my only basses, so I guess that's not over the top, right? (he says, seeking reassurance). BTW I love the metallic black - much more metallic than I expected.

Yes, the B on the Super Long set is long enough for long scale Dingwalls.Chrome B string is long enough for a full scale Dingwall? Or is the Z a 4?
What's the current ETA on new builds? Anyone heard from Sheldon and crew recently?
I leave Taiwan in just a little over 24 hours. Saturday morning, as soon as The Bass Shop opens I'll be there to pick up my order. Sooooo looking forward to it!

So, have you spec'd it completely? And if so, what are the deets. Inquiring minds want to know!!Maaaaannnn. I've been fight this flu like cold for about a week now and I feel I haven't got anything done. It's just put a damper on my whole energy levels and creativity has just been crushed......
no bass playing. No leather workin. Hardly even any real working.
BUT....... I did make it down to L and M today to put my deposit on my Z3 6 build. Back in que.
Suddenly I feel sooo much better. Hee hee hee. My lovely wife said, "........ that's .....nice."
A new dingwall on order, Buckleys , vodka.
Top O the world ma. Top O the world!
I have 3 additional sets of Dingwall strings so I might sacrifice one set and buy a C. Thanks!!Talk to Jason at Bassstringsonline.com.
I'm getting away with 100-30, E-C on my super pj. DR pure blues. I don't know if they would be long enough for the longscales.
I'd try a set of Dingwall longscales for a six string to get a start. You'll have a spare B.
Kalium Strings! Customize the gauge of every string to fit your tuning. So I was talking to the wife last night about how I really love my NG-2 5 string. But I'm curious how the 4's play since there are some tunes I like to play on a 4 string and the B just gets in the way. She said when you get some other stuff sold and paid off get the blue one!!!
I'd really like to try and string mine E to C but can't find any strings with a 110 E string. I could try the 100 but That might be too small for the nut slot. I think this has been covered before but curious what others have used.
I was having a moment when I looked at that site before, now I get it.Kalium Strings! Customize the gauge of every string to fit your tuning.
Thanks! It can be a little overwhelming, but it's worked great for me!I was having a moment when I looked at that site before, now I get it.Thanks!
Waitaminute.I sold and shipped a used Dingwall bass from the US to a buyer in Canada. Got socked with a several hundred dollar import tax. Canada import taxes have changed a lot over the years and seem to be very complex. After several months of investigation and appeals, I had to pony up the $$$. The buyer was very understanding and kindly reimbursed me.
