Only word of advice I can give you, is be cautious. Depending on the date of manufacture, your Combustion PG may or may not line up with someone elses. WD Music will cut you a pick guard, but only as good as you trace it. In other words, if your screw holes, truss rod slot, etc don't line up exactly with yours, well, sad day and lots of filing, sanding and extra heartache.I would appreciate it if you have time. I'm looking to go to 3X on my NG2 and trying to get all of the info I need before I get started.
I started to buy a C1 white MOP original Dingwall pickguard that is listed in the classifieds to modify, but noticed the truss rod cut out was "V" shaped compared to the one on my NG2. I read somewhere that a lot of these pickguards, due to modifications and tweaks in the ongoing refinement of the Combustion series just aren't interchangeable.
I traced my original NG2 pickguard, used a couple of straight-edges and the new pickup itself to line up for a 3X pickguard. I cut the first one out to lay on the bass just as a dummy check.
