Okay, really keen to know if there are pickguard/pickup/electronics options for people trying to convert an NG2. That said, I love my NG2 and have an ABZ on order.

This may change with the advent of the NG3 release, but the party line as of just a few weeks ago was no dice. The shop is buried in work and unable to facilitate retrofits due to the amount of traffic and time needed.

BOOM.

NG3 in the house!

NAMM sneak peak #5 NG3!
You've been asking.
We've been listening.
Nolly's been testing.
Now we're ready.

I couldn't say anything until Sheldon released the news. Amazing looking yes they are.
Don't want to burst anyone's "I'll get me one next month" hopes, but realistically, we certainly will not see them anytime soon. Most likely some time after December. My guess, and I certainly could be wrong, would be February~March 2019. I ordered Swirls early January last year and they are still shipping out through this February. My guess is these will be insanely popular. I was holding out for an ABZ, but hmmmm. I have an appointment to play one at NAMM, but I don't think I will be able to get loud enough nor have enough ear space to hear any difference between the 2x, with all the chaos going on at NAMM.

These look rad! Curious what the switching scheme is, if it will be 3x or D-bird, or a completely different setup! Thinking of eventually upgrading my NG-2 and am leaning toward the 3x switching, but may have to reconsider if this brings something different to the table!

My current guess (and those of a few other long-timers) is that it's a standard 3X. Of course we could get surprised. No word on a change of policy from the shop re:2-3 Conversions.

It’s a Crimbus miracle

I'd like to think it was UPS making up for trying to wreck my 2005 AB1 and for trying to get it stolen.

I'm stuck at home waiting for the HVAC people to come over and clean the ol' heating system, so I gave a quick call to reception to let them know to expect a 'big box' today for me. It was also payday, so additional goodies (like a new-issue Dingwall strap will be pending too.

I am really crossing my fingers that there will be some amazing Z3 basses at the Dingwall Booth this year. The NGs are cool and all but the Z3 is my absolute dream bass!
I haven't seen or played one yet. It is going to be a tossup as to whether I get an incoming one in before NAMM. If not I too hope he has one there. I have an appointment so I will play the new 6-string and hopefully a Z. If you see me around please say hello! Are you going to see Mohini Dey (and other great players) play at the bass bash Thursday? I am looking forward to that.
