Wish I'd thought of it. Really, what are you guys talking about? He's reprehensible because he invented a redhead? It's funny, it's clever. Give him a raise.

Well, here's one thing that could go wrong:
While unlikely, it's possible that a woman fitting the description could get assaulted, and, if that happened, he might be held responsible. At the very least he'd be in a very uncomfortable situation answering a lot of police questions, and might even have to get himself a lawyer. And, if any of this were to happen, it's even likely that it would get into the paper as something done by their band.
And that would definitely feel like something which had gone wrong.
Tell him to have his girlfriend wear a red wig and come to the show. If he doesn't have a girlfriend then have his mom do it.
I think you should run an additional ad promising to give $500.00 cash to whoever shows up with the most friends.
Also wrong. Family of Lawyers, A.D.A.'s, Court Clerks, Probation Officers, and Legal Secretaries.I think it is time for you to turn off the tv for a while.
Also wrong. Family of Lawyers, A.D.A.'s, Court Clerks, Probation Officers, and Legal Secretaries.
Your interpretations of the court system may come from TV, mine come from the people who would do it to them. As a defense attorney family member has often said: most people's trouble with the law doesn't come from intentionally criminal behavior, most of it comes from sheer stupidity.
A member of my band took it upon himself, in addition to traditional promotion for an upcoming gig, to post in CL's no strings attached section something along the lines of pretending to be a 5'4 redhead female with green eyes looking to hook up at the show. He put it forward as if this fictional girl is a friend of the band from Chicago in town to see us play and looking for a place to stay and possibly more.
I find this a bit deplorable because at best it will draw people out to the show who are there only for a hookup with an anonymous person. At worst it comes across as desperate and underhanded if it becomes known that it was the work of the band.
He claims that this is just a trial idea and feels that it could be a benefit to the band if we're playing in a town that we haven't played in before.
I feel that it's deceitful, predatory towards lonely men and perverts that might show up (hopefully not so many perverts) and also towards any women at the show who have to deal with said perverts.
The damage is done, I'm just curious what the consensus is regarding such situations, hence the posting.
