So it really sucks that I didn't think of the 4Ohm thing before I purchased the 8Ohm cabinet.
I have a single 210 and it gets very loud. I'm sure with two it would be incredible! And yes, vertical stacking would be the way to go.Hey All,
I am new to the Forum and would like some advice! I just came across DNA gear online and I am very impressed by their specs. I would like to hear if anyone is using two DNS 210 cabs. I've heard great things about the 410, so I just need assurance that two 210's will be equally as good.
Also I heard that stacking 210 cabs vertically so you have a single row of 10" drivers is better. Can't remember the technical term used. Dispersion?
Thanks!
Hi,I am in need of rack ears for my DNA 1350. Does anyone know the best way to get them
Yes, I can confirm that the DNS410 gets stupid loud and yet still sounds great at lower volumes.I have a pair of 2x10 @ 8ohm cabs, and I never use them both. A single 2x10 does most everything I need for the size venues I play...and if I have even decent FoH, I'm good to go.
Honestly, If I had to do it over again, I would have bought a 4x10 @4ohm instead of the second 2x10. IMO, 2 cabs is kind of a hassle, and from what I've read/heard, a 4x10 can get stupid loud while also sounding good at lower volumes. Plus, it's only 1 trip in/out at ~80lbs instead of 2 trips at ~52lbs, if the need ever arises for more ooomph!! Granted, all of this experience is with a GK MB500 Fusion head. The results will vary considerably depending on how you choose to power them!
On the flip side, if you're on the road and blow a speaker in one of the boxes, the completely separate 2nd cab comes in handy!

Curious about this setup also. Looking at a “small “ rig of a mesa 800+ and either dna 10’s or 12’s.Anyone use the Mesa Subway D800 or D800+ with your DNAs? What about the Mesa Prodigy tube head?! ...specifically with a 2x10? My GK MB500 Fusion is starting to act up, so I’m about to take the plunge on replacing it in the next few days.
I was hoping the GK would last thru the end of the year, but it doesn’t seem like it’s meant to be.
Take a close look at the DNA-800. Pretty sweet amp that is both very light and powerful for a street price of $750.Anyone use the Mesa Subway D800 or D800+ with your DNAs? My 410 is ceramic and 4ohm. I definitely prefer ceramic. Used the Neo's for a while. Hated them. Very thin sounding. I used Faital's. Just never gave me the killer pounding my ceramic speakers do. But that is just my opinion.
Alright...I'm about to take the plunge and grab a new DNA 4x10, but I have a couple questions before I give the go ahead for the local dealer to order one.
1. Does David offer Neo and Ceramic drivers on his 4x10s? I know my pair of 2x10's are ceramic, but have heard he's offering Neo's on some.
2. What's everyone's preference between Neo's and Ceramic drivers? It's been a long time since I've used Neo speakers, but I remember Neos from other brands sounded thin to my ears. ...but that's been 7-8 years ago, and I know the technology has improved immensely! I'm not afraid to haul around a cab that's 25-30lbs heavier, if the tone is there!!
3. 4ohm or 8ohm? I have a pair of 8ohm 2x10's. They're both loud, but find a single is just shy of being loud enough (for the two bands I play in regularly) and I really don't like hauling the pair of 2x10s as much as I thought I would...it's a hassle!! Therefore, one will be relegated to the rehearsal space and the other will be a backup or used in more subdued settings. I was thinking 4ohm since I'll want to max out the watts on any amp I decide to pair with it. ...probably start with a GK 700RB and/or and Ampeg SVT-3 until I can afford something different. Both of those amps max around 450-480W @40hm respectively. Most of the other amps I'd be interested in purchasing later are 700-800W @4ohm...which is a decision for a year or so from now, but want to have the right cab in place for when the time comes.
With my pair of 2x10's and the inevitable 4x10, this is the last cab I'll buy for the foreseeable future, so I want to make sure it's the 'right' one!
Any thoughts/suggestions/insight is greatly appreciated!
I have the neo 410 with rhino covering. It’s loud!! The ceramics have more lows, but I’m still impressed by the 410 neo cabs. My cab is 8 ohm, but prefer a 4 ohm to have the option to max any amp I use with it. But, I got too much of a good deal on the 8 ohm I purchased it. The weight is probably in low 70’s or high 60’s pound. I still prefer something lighter. I use it when I’m playing outdoors and it’s hella loud.
Brian has one in stock now. I like the rhino for weight and weather. The carpet is gonna absorb more so dampens the lows. The rhino doesn’t absorb like carpet.Arlo! What's up man? It's Brad Clark, I bought one of your 1x12's a few years back and we've run into each other several times in town!
I agree that the weight of the ceramics is a bit of a turn off, but I am 99.9% sure I prefer the 'heft' and low end that ceramic drivers bring. I imagine the weight will be in the mid-80's for the ceramic 4x10, which is alright considering I already lug around a 55lb 2x10 and have a sweet little furniture dolly to help negotiate the weight! Hope to pull the trigger soon and have Brian get one on order in the next week or so!
How do you like the rhino covering compared to the carpet?
