Do You Like A White Bass? - Poll

Just curious. I have had an affinity to keep atleast one white bass in the arsenal over the years, and it is often the one I end up playing most. For whatever reason, I tend to put white pearloid on most of my instruments, it's a sickness I guess.

My current favorite is the Stingray 5 in the pic, feel free to show yours.

Some probably find them bland, just curious where people stand on this one.

It’s beautiful. I never sought out a white bass; however, when I found my Chinese Fender Squire P-bass (in need of a lot of TLC!) for $71.00 at Goodwill, I had to buy it. After a new nut, rewiring and Seymour Duncan pickups, she sounds great! I didn’t do anything to the body, so there are still blems, dings, etc. The neck is as good as my ‘64 P-bass, and she sings!

I saw John Wetton a few times in the 70s with Uriah Heep and UK....I refinished one of my Ps to resemble his
Only works with pre 73s though as there is no routed out section for the wiring

Olympic white, maple or rosewood neck, tortoise shell pick guard. What could be better than that!

It's the original mint guard from the factory. But, yeah, it's kind of rare. IIRC, the Olympic White '63 AVI's were only made for the 2013 model year, which was also the debut year for the '63. The color was replaced by Faded Sonic Blue after that.

I had the 63 sonic blue before my white American Original above. It looked amazing. Contemplating replacing the tort guard on my AO 60s with mint, thus my question. Do you know which color is correct from back in the 60s?

You may want to get input from more knowledgeable Fender experts, but I believe that both white and tort where available pickguard options for P basses in 1963. To my knowledge, mint was never an offering. Rather, mint is a common color for white pickguards to age to over the years. I could be wrong, however.

Now own 2 white basses and a Mary Kay tele .

Yeah white basses are cool, a white /cream J with bound rosewood neck with block inlays and a tort guard is killer... sadly I don't own one yet but I do have a G&L that plays,

looks and sounds excellent
