Do you play the same brand or style of bass that your favorite bassist plays? I mean the players who most inspired you to pick up the instrument .

No, not at all. But I do have the same number of strings. I also stopped having a fav bass player. I feel way more, myself now than ever before.

My favs play Fender Precisions,MusicMan Stingrays, Ibanez SR, and Moon Jazz . All 4 strings but sometimes tuned down.


I play MTD 5 string Pbass and AG5.

Yes - spent most of my playing life on either a Sadowsky, Spector, or a P-Bass because of Will Lee, Doug Wimbish, or Jamerson, respectively.

I used to, that's how I was introduced to Modulus and Lakland at 18 years old. Keith Moseley of String Cheese was the only bassist in the world to me for about 5 years so I was playing a 55-02 deluxe and Q5. Then started to twist into being a P bass guy.

Not really. I have a jazz copy and a vintage Rvoli.

Bought them for the sound, and because everyone should have a jazz and a hollowbody in their stable.

Ryan (Mudvayne) uses a thumb bass - so i got one
Orion (Behemoth) uses Markbass heads - so i got one
Alex (Cannibal Corpse) uses Darkglass gear - so i got a couple of pedals
hell ^ they all use Dr strings so i went and got them too.

and in doing so i ended up getting my own bastard child bass tone thats all my own.
