Does anyone care about strap color?

I have a leather strap, that is brown, camel-ish. I got it because it was wide and comfy. I did not care for the looks.

And i have one where i selected the color of the leather to fit the color of the wood of my main player.

The next strap i will buy will be the Mono Betty strap. Which is black.

I care deeply about strap color. Here are my rules:

Brown or natural bass -- some strap color that appeals to me
Black bass -- some strap color that appeals to me
Blue bass -- some strap color that appeals to me
Red bass -- some strap color that appeals to me
White bass -- some strap color that appeals to me
Any other color -- some strap color that appeals to me

As you can see, I am very picky.
BTW, for the last 34 years I've only owned one strap. It appeals to me.

Usually I do. Sunburst gets a brown strap. Natural basses might get a tan colored strap. Some get black depending on what color they are and I try to match them to my different basses.

Since lots of people care so much about the color of their bass, the strap you wear with it is somewhat important, no? I mean - straps are pretty visible on stage.

I have a white Stingray with a white pickguard, and I'm considering a white strap to go along with it. Too much?
I have natural finished basses.
Walnut,koa,ovangkol,nato
But all the straps for them are Comfort Stapps. And they are all black.
So no.
I don't color coordinate.

More than you can shake a stick at.

Not a top priority, but yeah, I think about the colors, and co-ordinate to suit my taste.

I think the Tele in my avatar has a purple strap on it, because it looks good with cream.

I'm an artsy-fartsy guy though.

I also try to sync up a strap w the bass and am constantly fiddling. I have a white bass with a black b/w red strap. I don't have a solo shot. You can see second from the right and hopefully zoom in. Almost all of my straps have one color outside and a complementary color inside, except a few solid black ones.View attachment 867079
Let me guess... The Jazz and Ric gets the most playing time and the Mustang the least?

The Mustang was the "one that got away" when we all used to buy and trade in while young. I did use it on one Studio track where the producer thought my original track was too clean - I was worried he thought I mailed it in, but he actually wanted something dirtier and that worked perfectly. The J and Ric are both '74 and do get lots of use, but over the past 3 years, the Ric and Aria ('80) have the most Studio time. That said, they all get Studio time (except granddaughters Mikro). The ones that don't are in another room. There is also a MIM J that is at luthier, which will see some time next week after I finish this week with MIM P-Bass Deluxe Special.

The J and Ric certainly saw the most stage time and studio time back in the day, with the Aria fighting hard to get into regular rotation.

I made a couple of leather straps for myself, but I was dissatisfied with them and gave them away, leaving me with one plain black strap. I am typically not into "plain" anything, so I went ahead and bought that pearl seafoam green fringe strap that was in the classifieds for months. It looks amazing on my white/tort Precision. Now I plan to devote at least 10% of my GAS to strap-acquisition for the rest of my life. I view it as being similar to my tie collection. It's an avenue for being classy and subversive at the same time.

Cool, but do you have to comb it every day? :D
