For a community like this, user engagement is the only valuable metric. If any change negatively affects that, then that change is destructive. What I remember about the old Talkbass: much more user engagement.

I do not like the new version at all in fact now I rarely use itIt's been a while since the TB overhaul. There were a lot of complaints and people who said they were leaving. It seems certain folks (myself included) post less than they used to. But now that I think about it, I still remember the opening page, but that's about it. I've gotten used to the new TB and find it very easy to navigate.
Curious if any fellow TBers are still salty about the transition. Or have most settled in?
Same here. The new site is SUPER slow.Opening the site and moving from page to page is a lot slower now, for me at least. . . When I open the site, it takes around a minute (by my desk clock) to become usable, sometimes even longer. . .. I'll admit that I don't visit here as much as I used to; sometimes I don't want to bother waiting.
but the level of engagement seems lower overall, and so i’m here less too…

.I miss the old format. It seemed like more of a community.
I agree.... It's like a lot of folks are in a close orbit, touch down briefly.... then float up again. I for sure spend less time postingI am resigned to the change. A lot of things, for me, were easier with the old TalkBass, but that is Darling Clementine now. I'm just going to have to up my learning curve with the new system.
More than the old Talkbass, I miss the old TalkBassers who rarely or ever post here now. To quote Fangorn, "These...were my friends. I knew their names."
