I have a story about an electrician, a chair, and a strip club, but this really isn't the place.
If you’re gonna hold me to that standard….You can't just come into my crib, dangle your carrot and then put it away, you know. Share with the group.

He had literally punched the seat cushion out of the chair and rammed it over his head and I am laughing so hard now I can barely typeAt least he regarded her highly enough to wear his GOLD chair….
Sounds like a normal night on George Street (St. John's NFLD) though it probably would have been in a regular club.He had literally punched the seat cushion out of the chair and rammed it over his head and I am laughing so hard now I can barely type
Ok ok alright already, so, let me just pull on my green raconteur hat...

And.......
So, we are working nightshifts on a job in North Portland. Industrial area, out past St. John's, right on Columbia Boulevard. Steel sheds full of Chinese import stuff etc etc. Anyway we have this Irish electrician working with us, Russel. In fact Russel and his brother, Richard.
Now, when I say Irish I don't mean they were from Boston. They were like really Irish, from a part of Ireland called Belfast, in a country called "Norn Iron". (It took me a while to get that, myself. I'll leave you to it).
Russel was a... unique looking individual. Squat and musculature of stature, only a little taller than my own 5' 1", with, a perfectly round shaved head that looked like a pink ball bearing. His brother, Richard, referred to him as "that wee bollock head".
Anyway, and this detail will become important later, where we were working was directly opposite a rather gaudily lit establishment called "Jag's Club House" which claimed to offer "cold beer, cocktails, lottery, dancers".
The more astute reader already knows where this may be heading.
So, fast forward to 1am on Friday (Thursday night shift remember), and there is what I can only describe as FURORE on our cigarette break (Yes, I used to smoke) as Russel is being pursued down the street by bandana wearing tattooed biker bouncers WITH A GOLD PAINTED CHAIR ON HIS HEAD.
My most pervasive memory of the entire scene is of the double doors to the club being wide open and Van Halen's "Why Can't This Be Love" blasting into the street, as Russel fled for his life. It was like a Tarantino scene. Truly bizarre, really quite concerning, and absolutely hilarious.
The next day we got the opportunity to question Russel.
He explained his situation by saying he went up to one of the dancers with a chair on his head and... I don't know how to say this within the bounds of TB decency, but he offered her a seat. Oh come on, just use your imagination. The young and no doubt innocent performer was, quite justifiably, outraged by her unwanted suitor's encroachment into her professional life as an entertainer, and contacted house management.
Which is why an Irishman was running as fast as he could, pursued by furious bikers, down a street in PDX, with a gold chair on his head, in fear of his life, as we all stood there smoking Camel Blues and going "Dafuq is going on ovah dere?"
I dunno I mean, some guys, they have their own ideas about how to approach a lady they might find attractive which may be ill advised. Russel was just one of those guys.

Best selfie I've seen today.so, let me just pull on my green raconteur hat...

The Jilted Be-Chaired Suitor. Is there no sympathy for him, Plighting his Troth, so to speak? His tragic wooing interrupted by Would-Be Pugilist Cyclers. Its a cold, cruel world, my friends. Happy Valentines Day, may your Woo be more sucessful.
Since UF Glue / Cascamite was mentioned upthread, beware a possible reformulation due to supply chain causing problems as seen #187
You could make them into glue?but if wishes were horses….
Thin Mix Boo eventually became my DJ name.
I'm joking. It was my stripper name. As if you'd have that as your DJ name. Ridiculous.
There should be enough clamps there to satisfy any glue-up porn fetishist.
