Well I emailed the guy, I figured he would probably have been having issues selling it.
Copied and pasted directly from my email:
Me:
You know people are selling ampeg 8x10s in mint condition on here for 500-600$ right? The fact that it is made in USA doesn't really cover up all the stuff you did to it. You might consider lowering your price a bit, just a thought.

The response:
8x10s are ****, if you don't have an offer, then I'd consider keeping your comments to yourself

Lol, they can't be much sh*ier than what he did to that cab.

The neck looks like Vintage Modified, which MF (and a few others) has for $300. So, he's only asking 250% more than it costs new, not 400%. :p

Well, from a design perspective, the Ampeg 6x10s and 8x10s are different in more ways than the latter having two additional speakers. One is a ported and tweetered design, while the other is a sealed, tweeterless cab. So perhaps he prefers the sound of the 6x10 over an 8x10e. However, his reply is still a complete non-sequitur since, regardless of his personal tastes, the market value of an Ampeg 8x10 is more than that of an Ampeg 6x10, which was really Jellin's point to the guy in the first place. :hmm:

With that said, while I wouldn't expect a large cab like a 6x10 to be mint, since they're rarely ever used with a slip cover and a non-touring musician is highly unlikely to keep one in a road case, that thing looks like a giant turd. If the drivers are good, I may give him $250 with the intention of repainting the grill and applying bed-liner to the box.
